302 | Litz, Perry E. Wednesday, 11 May 1955 Lock Haven - Perry E. LITZ, 76, of rear 2 Bellefonte avenue, was foun d dead at his home yesterday morning by his son Earl. Roy L. BRYERTON, Clinton County coroner, said that death was caused b y aneurism of the arteries and occured at 9:30. Born in Dunnstown, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Burton LITZ and ha d lived all his life in this area. His employment included the New Yor k and PA Company, the North American Refractories and Claster's buildi g Supplies. He retired ten years ago. Mr. LITZ was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church. He is survived by another son Eugene, with the United States Marines i Miami, Fla.; two daughters, Mrs. Sarah BARNER, Williamsport and Mis s Louella LITZ, Lock Haven, and a sister, Mrs. Fred PFLUGFELDER of Ren ovo and two grandchildren. 303 | LIVERPOOL - William C. Long, 87, Liverpool RD1, died last evening in t he Polyclinic Medical Center, Harrisburg, where he had been a patient sin ce Jan. 15. Prior to being hospitalized, he had been a resident in the Doctors' Convalescent Center, Selinsgrove, for several months. Born Oct. 23, 1897, at Liverpool RD1, Perry Co, he was the son of th e late William Clarence and Ida Spicher Long. His wife, the former Susan Mar ia Lyter, died in 1969. Mr. Long was a lifelong farmer in Perry Co, retiring in 1967. He was a member of St. John's (Barner's) Lutheran Church, Liverpool RD 1, and a member and officer of Barner's (Saint John's) Lutheran Church Cemeter y Liverpool RD 1, Perry Co, PA Association. He was also a member of the Perry Valley Grange, Millerstown RD1; and the Liverpool Senior Cit izens Center. Surviving are seven daughters, Mrs. Margaret Smeltzer of Harrisburg, M s. 304 | lLile Roy Mayes "Mike" Lile Roy "Mike" Mayes December 1, 1926 - August 27, 2009 Lile Roy "Mik e" Mayes, 82, of Julian, passed away Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009 at the He arthside Nursing Home in State College. Born on Dec. 1, 1926 in Runvil le, he was the son of the late Ed Mayes and Dora Lucas Mayes. In 1950 , he married Joyce Rider who preceded him in death. On March 9, 1996 a t Brookside Wesleyan Church he married Lena Tenalio Mayes who survive s at home. He attended the Yarnell school system. Lile spent most of h is life farming. He worked as a mechanic for Davidson Trucking, drov e for Stauffer Transportation, and was a Supervisor for Union Twp. H e was a faithful member of the Brookside Wesleyan Church. Lile was a m ember of the American Legion of Milesburg and played the guitar in th e County Friends Band. Lile was devoted to his family and was passiona te about his music and farming. Born Dec. 31, 1939 in Lock Haven, PA he was t he son of the late Floyd E. and Leona B. Peter. In 1959 he married Syl via J. Barner who died Dec. 25, 1974. Lloyd was retired construction worker who had worked for Stone Valle y Construction, Hawbaker Construction and McCormick Construction. He s erved in the PA Army National Guard and was a member of American Legio Post 623, Beech Creek, Fisher Hill Hunting Camp, a social member o f the Castanea Fire Co. and the Sons of Italy. He was born June 19, 1914. He was born at Nashannock Falls, Pa., to Da vid J. and Fannie (Yoder) Moose. He attended Nashannock Falls School and later Fayette School. He move d to OH in 1945. He married Alma Ruth Barner in 1935 to which union one child was born , Elton LeRoy Moose on Dec. 4, 1935. Alma Barner Moose deceased on Jul y 28, 1956, in Akron, OH. He remarried on Feb. 2, 1957, to Anna Rowan d Sowers. She died on Oct. 31, 1985. He was a member of Northview Christian & Missionary Alliance Church fo 29 years. He served as an Elder for 20 years. He also served in th e choir, trustee, usher, youth worker and Sunday School Superintendent . In 1986 he moved to Springfield, OH, to live with his son. He joine d Faith Wesleyan Church in 1986. He served on the Official Board for f our years. He retired from Landmark Inc. in Smithville in 1979 after 27 years. His son, Elton L. Moose (Kathleen) from Springfield, OH, and a stepson , James L. Sowers (Blanche) from Olney, Md., and Delmar Plant of Shrev e, OH, survive him. Preceding him in death were his parents, two wives , Alma and Anne, a stepdaughter, Juanita Plant, Ty Young, a step-grand son, and a sister, Nora Shamp. Barner, Jr., observed their 50th weddin g anniversary on June 26. She had worked for the former Lock Haven Laundry for many years and wa s a homemaker. She was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church and was a Sunda y School teacher for many years. She was a 1945 graduate of Sugar Valley High School in Loganton and at tended the former Wheaton Business School in Williamsport. She enjoyed crocheting and spending time at camps in Rosecrans and Can ada. Born Feb. 13, 1928, in Greenburr, she was a daughter of Ellis R. and E dna Stamm Lesher. Surviving, besides her husband, are a son, Stephen Eric of Lyken; a br other, Glenn Lesher of Loganton; a sister, Anita L. Currin of Birmingh am, AL; and six grandchildren. 310 | Lock Haven Express Friday - December 24, 2004 Benjamin M. Bierly Benjamin M. Bierly, 78, of 422 Oak St., Jersey Shore, died Wednesday , Dec. 22, 2004 at the Williamsport Hospital. He was born April 22, 1926 in Jersey Shore, a son of the late Harold a d Barbara Johnson Bierly. Ben was married in 1950 to the former Marion M. Larrison who survives. He graduated from Jersey Shore High School, where he played basketbal l for the 1943 championship team. He was also a graduate of Dickinso College in Williamsport, now Lycoming College. He was a World War II U.S. Army Air Force veteran. He directed and played saxophone in a band and orchestra that played a t clubs locally. Early in his life, he worked for Larrison-Bierly Recapping in Jersey S hore. He was a conductor for the N.Y. Central, Penn Central and ConRai l Railroads, retiring in 1988 after 35 years. He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, where he was active an d at one time, conducted the boys choir. Ben was known for his master y of intricate inlaid wood pictures and for his artistic ability. man y of his paintings are displayed locally, including at Santinos Restau ant. Ben was an avid bow hunter. Above all, he was a very kind, considerat e and loving family man. Surviving besides his wife, are a daughter, Rebecca (Rich) Buttorff o f Jersey Shore; a son, Michael of Hanover; five grandchildren, Sumer , Misti and Tyson Buttorff and Taylor and Ashley Bierly and two brothe s, Bill Bierly and Harold Bierly, both of Jersey Shore. He was preceded in death by a daughter, April Louise. A celebration of Ben’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Grac e Lutheran Church, with his pastor, Rev. Ralph Heagy, officiating. Known to many as “Aunt Peg,” she was born on April 20, 1921 in Rauchto wn, a daughter of the late William E. and Vera M. Bailey Welshans of A vis. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Avis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester L. Powers of Avis i March of 1999. Mrs. Powers worked for Bobbie Brooks of Jersey Shore and Lock Haven an d Woolrich Woolen Mills of Woolrich for a total of 28 years. She enjoyed caring for and playing with her granddaughter, Alex. Surviving are one son, Chet and his wife, Vicki, and granddaughter, Al exandria Bailey Powers, all of Hendersonville, Tenn.; five sisters, Es ther Kephart of Avis, Maxine Charles of Jersey Shore, Pauline Reever o f York, Helen Shemory of Waterville and Beverly Rhinehart of Avis; an d one brother, Robert Welshans of Hudson, Fla. Born on Jan. 5, 1921 in Rauchtown, he was the son of the late Floyd E . and Anna Mary Bower Meixel. He and his wife, the former Evelyn E. Showers, celebrated their 57th w edding anniversary on Sept. 20, 2003. Mr. Meixel was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II . He was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was of the Protestant faith. Arthur retired from Alcan Cable in Williamsport in 1981, with over 2 0 years of service as a strander operator. He was also formerly employ ed by the Department of Forestry, the Transcontinental Pipeline, Bethl ehem Steel, and throughout his life as a farmer raising beef cattle an d crop farming. Mrs. Barner was born April 11, 1924 in Renovo, the daughter of James F . and Maude L. (Watson) Perry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ardell Barner in 1993. Mrs. Barner worked for Piper Aircraft in Renovo for 15 years. She wa s a member of St. Joseph’s Church, the Altar Rosary Society and Cathol ic Daughters of America. She was a 1942 graduate of Renovo High School . Mrs. Barner was an avid baker. She also enjoyed bowling and playing ca ds. She is survived by one son, Kenneth J. Barner Sr. and his fiance Debr a Day of Lock Haven; one daughter, Wanetta K. Sockman (Clarry) of Reno vo; four grandchildren, Kenneth J. Jr., Kraig, Beth Ann and Susan; an d four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Francis, Charles and Jero me, and two sisters, Katherine Miller and Grace Nihart. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, 2005 a t the Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth Street, Renovo. Rev. Donald E. B oslett will officiate. Miller, of 3856 Narrows Rd ., Tylersville, passed away on Nov. 12, 2005 after a brief stay at Sus que-View Home, Lock Haven. Born in Tylersville Oct. 22, 1910, she was the daughter of the late Ha y Hoyt and Mae A. (Frantz) Miller. She was a member of the St. John’s United Church of Christ, Tylersvill e. Hilera was a charger member of the Tylersville Community Club. A homemaker, she enjoyed quilting, gardening, jigsaw pu?les and playin g cards. She is survived by a sister Grace, wife of Gene Persun of Loganton an d many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two sisters , Freeda Wertz and Genevieve Barner and three brothers, Allen Miller , Harry Miller and Richard Miller. 317 | Lock Haven Express 11/7/2005 Doyle C. Lamey Doyle C. Lamey, 74, formerly of Loganton, entered into rest Friday, No v. 4, 2005 in the Susque-View Home in Lock Haven. Born Jan. 22, 1931 in Loganton, he was the son of Harry E. (Sol) Lame y and the former Edna E. Kleckner. He is survived by his wife, the former Doris J. Brungard, they were un ited in marriage Sept. 4, 1953 in Loganton. Doyle was a 949 graduate of the Sugar Valley Highschool, he then enlis ted in the United States Army in 1953 and was a member of the First In fantry Division Band. The band appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1955. Doyle worked for Ti tan Metal in Bellefonte for 16 years and later was an agent for Americ an General Insurance for 12 years. He retired from Valley Sheet Metal in 1992. He owned and operated Lame y’s Repair Shop in Loganton from 1964 until 2000. He loved hunting, fishing, woodworking and was a certified gunsmith. For many years Doyle was a member of the Saint Paul Lutheran Church i Loganton. Surviving are two sons, Denis C. Lamey and wife Deborah of Loganton an d Douglas J. Lamey Sr. and wife Betty of Flemington; one daughter, Don a J. Walizer and husband Geary of Lock Haven; two grandsons; three gr anddaughters; one step-granddaughter; one brother, Harold Lamey of Rau chtown; two sisters, Mary Hoffer of Jersey Shore and Jean Lamey of Log anton. Born May 24, 1922 in Monument, she was the daughter of the late Willia m and Anna Walker Coulter. Her first husband, Russell E. Garrett, whom she married in November 19 40, died June 30, 1970. Her second husband, Dean W. Weaver, whom she m arried June 9, 1973, died May 31, 1996. She had worked at Sylvania Electric, the housekeeping department of Lo ck Haven Hospital and Lock Haven Housing Authority, retiring in 1973. She was a member of the Rote United Methodist Church. She enjoyed atte ding church, crocheting, hook-latching, ceramics and participating i programs at the Salvation Army. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Norma (Ronald) Killinger of Beech Cr eek and Mrs. Gail (Eli) Duck of Mill Hall; two step-daughters, Susan Y ocum of Castanea and Judy Eiseworth of Williamsport; a step-son, Eri c Weaver of Williamsport; and a sister, Wilma Leazier of Philipsburg . Mervin was born on May 14, 1917 in Jersey Shore, the son of the late G uy and Erma Barner Runner of Jersey Shore. He had been a resident of P ine Grove Mills since May 1, 2003 and was welcomed warmly by the graci ous neighbors there. On June 26, 1943, he married Marguerite I. Schaef er, who died March 10, 2002. Mervin graduated from Jersey Shore High School in 1934, obtained a B S degree from Albright College, Reading, in 1943, and went on to ear his master’s degree at the University of PA in Philadelphia and a do ctorate in Organic Chemistry from the University of Iowa by 1950. He l ived in LaGrange and West Chicago, Ill., teaching at the Illinois Inst itute of Technology before going into business for himself in the earl y 1960s, but considered PA his home and returned there after retiremen t. He was the beloved father of two daughters, Donna G. Carlisle and husb and Jonathan (Josh) of Lewisville, N.C. and Vicki L. Johnson and husba d Gary of Glen Ellyn, IIl.; the grandfather of Dolores I. Meixel, Sr., age 65, and Nancy Louise Meixel, age 61, of Pi e Mountain Road died Thursday, Dec. 16, 2004 at their residence. He was born July 10, 1939 in Rauchtown, a son of Frank Leroy and Anit a Violet Bailey Meixel. She was born April 18, 1943 in Jersey Shore, a daughter of Donald an d Mary Miller Leupold. They were married December 17, 1960. Early in his life he worked for Meixel’s Valley TV Cable Co. He retire d three years ago from Alcan Cable as a strander working over 35 years . He was a member of the Jersey Shore Moose Lodge #214, the Elks Lodg e #1057 and was a social member of the American Legion Post #36. He wa s a volunteer fireman with the Nippenose Valley. He enjoyed hunting, t aveling, camping and loved to eat. Early in Nancy’s life she was employed at West Co, Jersey Shore, a s a machine operator. She attended St. James Lutheran Church, Rauchtow . She was a member of Jersey Shore Moose Auxiliary #214 and a socia l member of the American Legion Post #36. She enjoyed bus trips with f iends, traveling and camping. She was a big fan of Elvis and Tom Sell eck. She was a most talented seamstress who enjoyed sewing, knitting , and embroidery. She loved making crafts and participating in craft s hows with her daughter-in-law throughout our area. She was a 1948 graduate of Lock Haven High School. Earlier in her lif e she had been employed as a nurse. She also had worked for Sylvania i Mill Hall and for several blouse factories in Pen Argyl. She was a member of the Mill Hall Church of Christ. She was also a mem ber of the Senior Center in Mill Hall and the Sons of Italy, Lock Have . Born July 2, 1929 in Loganton, he was a son of John S. and Frances M . Knarr Seyler. He was married to Margaret L. Baney Seyler, who surviv es. A Korean War Veteran, he served with the Company F39th Regiment, 9th I fantry Division as a Sergeant (T) 1952. Seyler worked as a lumber grader for Spucks from 1945 to 1947, as an a utomotive mechanic and school transporter, at Hammermill, as a carpent er and as an American Legion cook. He retired from HRI. He was a member of Lock Haven 40 and 8, Sons of Italy and American Leg ion Post 131, where he had been a past commander and past 16th Distric t Commander. Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Gerald L. Seyler of Jersey Sh ore and Stephen A. Seyler of Loganton; three daughters, Mary F. Fette and Willeen A. Matter, both of Loganton and Mildred J. Stabley, 85, 195 Stabley Road, Lock Haven, died March 23, 20 03, at the ManorCare Health Services in Jersey Shore. He had resided t here since February of 2002. Mr. Stabley was born in McElhattan, Feb. 22, 1918, and was the son o f the late Ferguson and Gay Wolfe Stabley. He had attended Lock Haven High School, and was a veteran of World Wa II, serving with the U.S. Army’s 50th Engineering Combat Battalion. Mr. Stabley worked for 10 years in the final assembly department of Pi per Aircraft. He then worked for Hammermill Paper Company in various d epartments, retiring in 1983 after 30 years of employment. During his employment at Piper, he owned and operated Corman’s BBQ o Route 150 in Beech Creek for seven years. Survivors include his wife, Betty Swisher Stabley, whom he married Jun e 25, 1939. Also surviving are two sons, Kenneth R. and his wife, Sher y L., Stabley of Woolrich and Richard L. Stabley of McElhattan; a bro ther, Jack C. Stabley of McElhattan; seven grandchildren; 19 great-gra dchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Born June 19, 1925 in Salona, he was the son of the late Arlington Rei sh and Lydia Brungard McClintick. He was married to Elsie M. Packer McClintick on May 2, 1947. She survi ves at home. He was an employee of the former Hammermill Paper Co, Lock Haven, wher e he had worked for 44 years. He had also farmed at their home in Salo a and also operated the Charles I. McClintick General Store in Salona . Charles was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II i Co L, 180th Div. He was in the campaigns at Rome-Arno and Southern F ance. He was wounded on Sept. 14, 1944 and received the Purple Hear t and the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon wit h two service stars. Charles was a long-time member of the Salona United Church of Christ , where he had served on the consistory. He was a life member of the A merican Legion and a long-time member of the Lamar Grange No. 274, Sal ona. Charles treasured children, family and friends. Surviving are a daughter, Cindy (Dean) Myers of Salona; a granddaughte , Courtney (Ben) Force of Salona; a grandson, Christopher Myers of Sa lona and many brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. Lehman, 82, R.R. 1 Northumberland, died Monday afternoon, Apri l 21, 2003, in Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg, where he ha d been hospitalized for the past week. He was born Feb. 23, 1921 in Booneville, Clinton Co, a son of the lat e Russell R. and Ruth Irene (Grenninger) Lehman. On Aug. 5, 1944, he m arried the former Pearl L. Barner. His death ends a marital union of 5 8 years. He was a 1939 graduate of Sugar Valley High School in Loganton. Mr. Lehman was a United States Army Air Force Veteran and served durin g World War II. He was formerly employed at Piper Aircraft, Lock Haven. Later he worke d for PA Power and Light Company as a plant analyst in the water treat ment department, starting in Lock Haven and later moving to the Shamok in Dam plant. He retired in 1983 from the Washingtonville plant, afte 43 years of service. Mr. Lehman was a member of Eureka Lodge No. 404 Free and Accepted Maso s of Northumberland which he served as a past master, and the William sport Consistory. He was a life member of Norry Rod and Gun Club, and a member of Northu mberland-Point Twp Senior Action Center, and Roaring Creek Rod and Gu Club of Poe Valley. He served several years as a Point Twp superviso . Mr. Lehman was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he enjoyed shooting t ap and skeet, for which he received many trophies for his marksmanshi p. He also enjoyed gardening and raising flowers and took special prid e in his rose garden. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Northumberland. 341 | Longtime Lampasas City Councilman E.E. "Junior" Ohnmeiss, 77, died Nov ember 10, 2003 at Rollins Brook Community Hospital. Funeral services were Nov. 13 at Dodson Funeral Home Chape l with Minister Reid Schaub officiating. Burial followed at Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery near Evant. Mr. Ohnmeiss was born April 5, 1926, in Williamsport, Pa., to Ellery a d Susan Florey Ohnmeiss. When he was 6 years old, Mr. Ohnmeiss was sent to Girard College in Philadelphia, and he gradua ted from there in 1943. Mr. Ohnmeiss then attended Penn State University for one year and was called to Army duty durin g World War II. He earned battle stars for service in France and Germany. After VE Day, Mr. Ohnmeiss and his unit were sen t to North Camp Hood to train for assignments in the Pacific. He was there when the war ended. He married Mavis Renken on February 17, 1946, in Hamilton [Texas]. Mr . Ohnmeiss had lived in Lampasas since 1954. He served as acting mayor for one year. He then re-entered the politica l arena in 1992, when he again was elected to the council. After he resigned his seat in 1998, he was named "Honorary Councilma for Life" by the city. He had worked at Wieser Feed Mill and Evergreen Feed Mill for a combined 44 years until his retirem ent in April 1991. Mr. Ohnmeiss was a member of the Lions Club and AMVETS Post 80, where he served as provost marshal. In March 1999, a portion of U.S. Highway 190 was renamed E.E. J. Ohnme iss Drive in his honor. Mr. Ohnmeiss is survived by his wife of Lampasas; two daughters, Mar y Atherton, and husband, Woody, of Gatesville, and Dr. Donna Ohnmeiss , of Plano; a son, John Ohnmeiss, and wife Elizabeth, of Lampasas; gra dchildren, Celia and Joel Wayne Sellers; and great-grandchildren, Che yenne and Wyatt Sellers, of Jonesboro. Article Photos Lori Ann Metzger Lori Ann Metzger, 50, of Westminster, Md., died July 25, 2010 at Carro ll Hospice of Westminster, Md. She was born May 4, 1960 in Lock Haven, the daughter of Anite O. Metzg er and the late Charles K. Metzger of Windermere, Fla. She was the wife of Philip R. Boob Jr. for 28 years. She is survived by her son, Nathan Metzger and daughter, Caitlin Metzg er; her sisters and brother in-laws Annette Metzger- Saeger and husban d Jeremy of Atlanta, Ga., and Michelle Greene and husband Randall of W indermere, Fla.; her father in-law, Philip R. Boob Sr. and wife Ginn y Boob; sister in-law Pam Spong, and a nephew and niece, Erick Spong a d Sophia Spong. Lori was preceded in death by her infant son, Nicholas, and her mothe in-law, Beverly J. Boob. She graduated from Boiling Springs High School, Boiling Springs, Pa. a d Williamsport Area Community College (PA College of Technology) wit h a degree in Marketing and Merchandising. She was a very active member of St. Benjamin's Lutheran Church, Westmi ster. For 18 years she was the manager and assistant buyer of the Hickory St ick, Westminster. She was instrumental in forming the Dicey Chix Bunc o Group with her very close friends. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday July, 28, at St . Benjamin's Lutheran Church, 700 Kriders Cemetery Rd., Westminster, M d., 21158, with Rev. David Schafer officiating. Interment is private. Born June 28, 1959, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Herma W. Sr. and Olive “Sally” (Eberts) Barner. She is survived by her children, Kelly Beers and Kasey Beers, both o f Belleville. Also surviving are brothers, Herman W. Barner Jr., Marysville, and Ron ald Barner, Elliotsburg; and a grandson, Braylon Carson-Beers. She was preceded in death by sisters Sharon Barner, Nancy Coleman an d Connie Brannon. She was a carrier for The Sentinel. 346 | Lowell N. Barner Lowell N. Barner, 65, of RR1, Roaring Branch, died Sunday, April 11, 2 004, at Williamsport Hospital. Lowell was born April 12, 1938, in Buff alo, N.Y., a son of Norman and Louise (Messner) Barner. He was the hus band of Patricia A. (Holcomb) Barner. Lowell hauled milk for East Smithfield Farms from 1959 to 1968, he wa s a dairy farmer from 1968 to 1978, then drove truck for Milton Transp ortation from 1978 to 1995. He was a member of East Point United Methodist Church. Lowell's favori te pastimes included riding snowmobiles, growing Christmas trees, trav eling and auto body painting and repairs. Lowell is survived by his wife, Patricia; two daughters and sons-in-la w, Bambi and Frank Cramm of Liberty and Jonna and David Cook of Fayett eville, Ga.; four grandchildren, Dana Cook, Melissa Cramm, Sam Cook an d Mitchell Cramm; his parents, Norman and Louise Barner of Trout Run ; a brother and sister-in-law, Duane and Maxine Barner of College Park , Ga.; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at the Eas t Point United Methodist Church on Thursday, April 15, at 11 a.m. wit h his pastor, the Rev. Tom Harmic officiating. Born Nov. 19, 1927, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of Antonio an d Nicolina Orlando Caringi. Lucy was a member of Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church. She was employed at GTE Sylvania in Montoursville for 40 years and wa s president of the company's credit union, also for 40 years. Her greatest joy was spending time with family. She and her husband, William Barner, celebrated their 60th wedding ann iversary July 1. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Connie L . Barner; four sisters, Rose Choate of Williamsport, Shirley Cuo?o o f Florida, Angelina Hoffert of Mechanicsburg and Connie Marra of Willi amsport; and two brothers, Patrick and Ralph Caringi, both of Williams port. She was preceded in death by an identical twin sister Kathryn Helsel , sisters Victoria Napoli, Mary Miller, Jennie Ciuccio, brothers, Loui s and Rudy Caringi. Jean was born Nov. 28, 1934 in Loganton, a daughter of the late Harr y E. and Edna E. (Kleckner) Lamey. She was married to George F. Lamey on Dec. 15, 1951. He preceded her i death on March 22, 2000. Jean was formerly employed by Susque-View Home during the 1970s. She w as a school bus driver for over 30 years for Kephart's, Schrack's an d Susquehanna Transit. She was also a cook for the Pepper Run Huntin g Club for many years. Jean also loved sitting on her front porch and "gossiping" with friend s. She was also a fine seamstress and avid quilter. Jean also served on the election board and zoning-hearing board for ma y years and belonged to the Sugar Valley Vol. Fire Co. #13, ladies au xiliary. Jean is survived by three daughters, Cindy (Danny) Smith of Spring Mil ls; Sheryl (Bill) Kerstetter; and Melanie (Mike) Karchner, both of Log anton, a son, Dan (Lynn) Lamey of Loganton, a sister, Mary (Dean) Hoff er Munro of Jersey Shore and a brother, Harold (Sharon) Lamey of Rauch town. Broad St., No. 2, Jersey Shore, Pa., wen t to be home with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 31, 2011. Born on June 1, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Pear l (Baney) Tyson. She was a 1942 graduate of Lock Haven High School and attended the for mer School of Commerce in Williamsport. June began her working career as a secretary for GTE Sylvania in Mil l Hall. Then as the assistant manager for the Federal Housing Authorit y, she oversaw the daily operation of housing units in Lock Haven fo women who came to Lock Haven to work at Piper and GTE Sylvania durin g World War II. After the war she moved to Jersey Shore where she continued her secret arial skills at Ugite Gas Co., C.H. Young Mfg., Jersey Shore Shirt Fac tory and with attorney L. Waldo Herritt. She also was formerly employe d by Lowry Electric Co., and the Lycoming County Courthouse in the Reg ister and Recorder's Office and by STEP as a typist and secretary in t he Bi County Office of Aging. June was a member of Crossroads Community Church and was active with t he Senior's Group and also enjoyed reading and cooking. She is survived by a daughter, Cinde Bower Stout (Dore) of South Willi amsport; two sons, Paul Bower (Dianne) of Avis and Craig Bower (Denise ) of Jersey Shore; a sister, Betty Quilty of Ocala, Fla.; five grandch ildren; and five great-grandchildren. A service of celebration will be held on Monday, April 4, 2011, at 1 1 a.m. in the Wayne P. Urbine Funeral Home, Inc., 408 S. Main St., Jer sey Shore, with Pastor John Phillips officiating.
