RICHFIELD - Helen Arlene Willow, 80, of Richfield, entered into rest o
Friday, Sept. 30, 2011 at her residence.
Born on March 27, 1931, in Perry Co, she was a daughter of the late El
mer and Margaret "Maggie" (Barner) Lyter. Her husband, the late Howar
d H. "Pappy" Willow, preceded her in death on May 26, 2001.
She was a seamstress with the Liverpool Shirt Factory, and later assis
ted with the family farm. "Arlene," as she was known, enjoyed reading
, crocheting and watching the Philadelphia Phillies.
She is survived by her four children: Michael H. Willow and wife, Glor
ia, of Mifflintown, Nancy K. Swinehart and husband, Ronald, of New Col
umbia, Randy J. Willow and Scott A. Willow, both of Richfield; five gr
andchildren: Chad Willow, Travis Willow and wife, Jessica, Jason Sheaf
fer, Joshua Sheaffer, and Jeremiah Sheaffer and wife, Megan; three gre
at- granddaughters: Madisyn, Alexa, and Jazlynn; a sister, Betty Benne
, of Mechanicsburg; nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Willow was preceded in death by four sisters: Ruth Strawser, Paul
ine Troutman, Ruby Goodling, and June Niemond; two brothers: Barner Ly
ter, and Roy Lyter.
Family and friends are invited to the funeral service at 11 a.m., Wedn
esday, Oct. 5, 2011, from the George P. Garman Funeral Home Inc., 936
6 Route 35, Mount Pleasant Mills, followed by a brief viewing.
Burial will be made in St. Peter's UCC cemetery, in Millerstown.
