  Lock Haven Express Tuesday - January 13, 2004 Arthur M. Meixel Arthur M. Meixel, 83, of 282 Fourth Gap Road, Loganton, passed away o Monday in ManorCare in Jersey Shore. Born on Jan. 5, 1921 in Rauchtown, he was the son of the late Floyd E . and Anna Mary Bower Meixel. He and his wife, the former Evelyn E. Showers, celebrated their 57th w edding anniversary on Sept. 20, 2003. Mr. Meixel was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II . He was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was of the Protestant faith. Arthur retired from Alcan Cable in Williamsport in 1981, with over 2 0 years of service as a strander operator. He was also formerly employ ed by the Department of Forestry, the Transcontinental Pipeline, Bethl ehem Steel, and throughout his life as a farmer raising beef cattle an d crop farming. Besides his wife, he is survived by several nieces and nephews and bro thers and sisters-in-law. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Wayne P. U bine Funeral Home Inc., Main and Water streets, Loganton, with Pasto Ken Geisewite officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home o Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Loga ton. If desired, memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society , Clinton Unit, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, Pa. 17701-3945.
