Henry W. Cooper was born in Stephenson Co, Illinois in 1844, being 69
years, 1 month, and 25 days of age when he passed away at his home in
Plainfield, Iowa on Nov. 23, 1913. For the last 3 years he had been
afflicted with the dread disease, cancer, which finally culminated i
his
demise. He was married to Sarah J. Rauch in 1866, and to this union we
e
born seven children, five daughters, and two sons, all of whom survive
,
excepting one son. The survivors are his wife, Mrs. Sarah J. Cooper, o
f
Plainfield, his daughters, Nora Cooper, of Carpenter, S.D.,Alma Kerns
, of
Council Bluffs, Iowa, Anna Mae Potter,, of Black Hills, S.D., Bessie
Gorsche, of Eugene, Ore., Iva Stufflebeam, of Tullain, Ill., and his s
on
William Cooper, of Plainfield. There are also 14 grandchildren, and 2
g-grandchildren. The deceased also leaves to mourn his loss, 4 sisters
, Mrs.
Anna Hardy, of Carpenter, S.D., Mrs. Hass, of Stephenson Couny, Illino
is,
Mrs. Hunich, of Burwell,, Neb., and Mrs. Frank Boyd of Plainfield, Ia
. His
brother, James Cooper preceded him in death about a year ago.
Those present at the time of his death were his daughters, Mrs. Kerns,
Mrs. Gorsche, Mrs. Stufflebeam, and his son William Cooper.
The funeral was held at the home on Monday afternoon, Nov. 24,1913, a

o'clock, Rev. Floyd O'Hittman, pastor of the M.E. church officiating
, and
the remains were laid to rest in the Plainfield Cemetery.
