Fred R. Furst, 90, a resident at ManorCare North, Williamsport, former
ly of 7 Duck Run Rd., Mill Hall, PA died Aug. 19, 2016 in ManorCare. B
orn Feb. 1, 1926 in Mackeyville, PA he was the son of the late Georg
e B. and Amanda Elizabeth Sager Furst. On Sept. 18, 1944 he married M
ary Ann Kyle who died July 18, 2001.
A graduate of the Mill Hall High School, Fred was a W. W. II veteran o
f the U. S. Army Air Force serving as a SGT. In the 301st Army Air For
ce Base Unit. For his service he received the W. W. II Victory Medal
, the Good Conduct Medal and the European-African- Middle Eastern Serv
ice Medal. Fred had visited the W. W. II Memorial in Washington, D
C with a group of other veterans on a bus trip organized as a senior p
oject in 2015. He was a long time general manager of Kyle’s Dairy, Ma
ckeyville and retired in 2006 as a rural route deliveryman for the U.S
.P.S. after 10 yrs. service. Fred was a member of the Mackeyville Uni
ted Methodist Church, Lafayette Lodge # 199, F & AM, Lock Haven, PA Wi
lliamsport Consistory, Jaffa Shrine and the Clinton Co. Shrine Club
. He was a former member of the Kiwanis Club of Mill Hall and enjoye
d travelling and camping.
