MILLERSTOWN - Mary S. Campbell completed her earthly journey surrounde
d by her family at her home in Millerstown on Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011.
She was born Dec. 21, 1939 to Evelyn (Barner) Shaffer Wetzler and th
e late Raymond Shaffer Sr.
Mary was a retired teacher from the Greenwood School District. She wa
s a member of the Presbyterian Church of Perry Valley where she wa
s a deacon, choir member and Sunday School teacher. She was also a mem
ber of the Perry County Retired Teachers Association and PSEA and PSER
.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, making homemade cards to se
d people for special occasions, gardening and music, traveling. She a
lso enjoyed knitting, especially sweaters as gifts for newborns of fam
ily and friends as well as baby items and blankets for the Linus Proje
ct.
Mary is survived by her husband of 51 years, Donald L. Campbell Sr.; c
hildren, Donald L. Campbell Jr. and wife Elizabeth Debra Schreiber an
d husband Gregory; mother Evelyn Wetzler; brother Raymond Shaffer an
d wife Deanna; and grandchildren Amy Gee and husband Austin, Kaitlin S
chreiber and fiancee Colby Wilson, Kayla Campbell and fiancee Brando
Bowersox and Tyler Campbell. She was preceded in death by her fathe
and step-father, Donald Wetzler.
Services will be held at her church with a visitation on Wednesday fro
m 5 to 7 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the funeral service a
t 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Wrights Cemetery. In lieu of flowe
s, contributions are requested to the Presbyterian Church of Perry Va
lley, 301 Old Ferry Road, Millerstown, PA 17062 or Compassionate Car
e Hospice, 1513 Cedar Cliff Drive, Suite 100, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
