Evelyn Shaffer Wetzler passed away at the age of 98 on February 27 a
t Locust Grove Retirement Village in Mifflin,PA. Evelyn was born to Ja
cob L. Barner and Mary E. Zaring Barner on October the 8th, 1920 in Li
verpool, PA. She was a member of the Newport Assembly of God Church. T
here she was a Sunday school teacher as well as a teacher of children'
s church. She was a retired teacher's aid of Capital Area Intermediat
e Unit, Camp Hill, PA. Surviving are a son, Raymond Arthur Shaffer J
and his wife Deana of Millerstown; son in law, Donald L. Campbell o
f Millerstown; grandchildren, R. Todd Shaffer and wife Allyson of Mill
erstown, Eric J. Shaffer of Lucketts, VA; Deborah Schreiber and husban
d Gregory of Millerstown, and Donald L. Campbell Jr. and wife Elizabet
h of Millerstown; great grandchildren, Salene, Samantha and Savanna Sh
affer, Amy Gee and husband Austin of Hershey, Kaitlin Schreiber and hu
sband Colby of Newport; Kayla Bowersox and husband Brandon of Newpor
t and Tyler Campbell of Millerstown; great great grandchildren, Micah
, Noah and Lydia Gee, Rosemary Schreiber and AvaGrace Bowersox. Evely
was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Campbell and husbands, 1
st Lt Raymond A. Shaffer Sr and Donald Wetzler. Services will be hel
d Monday from the Newport Family Life Center, 27 West Shortcut Road, N
ewport with a visitation from 10 AM until the funeral service at 11 AM
. Burial will follow after a luncheon in the Fairview Cemetery, Freebu
g, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to th
e Newport Assembly of God Church, 253 North 6th Street, Newport, PA 17
