BARBARA E. BYERS
Barbara E. Byers, 66, of Medical Park Drive, Mountain City, Tenn., die
d Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2006 at Mountain City Care Center.
She was born July 17, 1939 in Roseglen to the late Earl C. and Doroth
y (Wilver) Deckard.
She formerly was a secretary for Sprint/United Telephone and a forme
member of Millerstown United Methodist Church, where she was a membe
of the church choir. After moving to Mountain City, she became a mem
ber of Valley View United Methodist Church and secretary of United Met
hodist Women.
Surviving are a daughter, Cheryl Woods of Mountain City; two sisters
, Audrey Smith of Emlenton, Pa., and Carol Thebes of Lawrenceville, Ga
.; a brother, Marshall Deckard of Lewistown; a granddaughter, Hannah W
oods, and a grandson, Ethan Woods, both of Mountain City; and her step
mother, Margaret Krebs.
Services were held Jan. 23 in Garman Funeral Home, Liverpool, with th
e Rev. Paul Smith officiating. Burial was in Liverpool Union Cemetery.
Hux-Lipford Funeral Home Chapel, Mountain City, handled arrangements i
Tennessee.
