    Kenneth R. "Ken" "Pap Barner" Barner, 79, of Middleburg, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2021, at the UPMC West Shore Hospital in Mechanicsburg.
    Ken was born Feb. 12, 1942, in Port Trevorton, a son of the late Victor Barner and Emma Strawser. On Feb. 11, 1961, Ken married the love of his life, Miriam K. (Kratzer) Barner. They shared 60 years of creating special memories filled with a lot of love and laughter.
    He was a graduate of Selinsgrove Area High School. Ken retired from Superior Walls in New Holland, where he worked in research and development. He was a member of the Middleburg Moose Lodge 1229.
    Ken enjoyed driving tractors, farming, fishing, hunting. Most of all, he loved to go to the races.
    He is survived by his loving wife, Miriam; six awesome and wonderful children, Cathy Strawser, and her husband David, Mary Lou Berkheimer and her husband Andy, Wanda Bollinger and her husband Kevin, Penny Beachy and her husband Dave, Ken Barner Jr. and his companion Monika, and Pam Krahel and her husband John; 14 sweet and loving grandchildren, Heather Ryder and her husband Evan, Heidi Hoover and her husband Colby, Travis Strawser and his wife Jen, Brad Berkheimer and his wife Sammy, Kent Berkheimer and his wife Brandy, Dustin Hoke and his wife Rose, Lindsey Inch and her companion Frank Inch, Dutt Keister, Nickel Conrad and her husband Stephen, D.J. Beachy and his wife Sarah, Quartney Beachy, Kennedy Barner and companion Dalton, Felicia Krahel, and J.C. Krahel and his wife Christy; 28 precious great-grandchildren and one on the way; one brother, David Barner and his wife Doris; one brother-in-law, Richard Kratzer and his wife Bonnie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
    Ken was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Faith Barner; great-grandson, Benjamin Ryder; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lester and Nora Kratzer; and step-father-in-law, Marvin Reich.
    Per Ken's request, services will be private.
    The arrangements and care of Mr. Barner have been entrusted to the George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc., 606 N. Front St., Liverpool.

    VICTOR BARNER

    Victor Wilhelm Barner, 50, of Port Trevorton RD 1 died at 2:45 a.m.
    Monday, Jan. 24th at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, Mahoning Twp
    , Montour Co, PA, Danville, where he was
    a patient since Sunday evening. He was admitted following a stroke
    he suffered while shoveling snow in the driveway at his home.
    He was born in Carroll Co, Illinois, December 27, 1915, the son
    of Mrs. Blanche L. Barner, Enola, and the late Elmer Barner.
    When he was a child his family moved to the Juniata County area,
    and later to Snyder Co, where as a young man Mrs. Barner farmed.
    He was united in marriage with the former Emma Elizabeth Strawser,
    October 10, 1936 at Hagerstown, Md.
    Following the marriage, Mr. Barner took up employment with various
    oad contractors. His last employment was with Hempt Brothers of
    Camp Hill, from where he retired in 1955 due to ill health.
    Mr. Barner was a member of the Winston Memorial Chapel, Milton RD.
    He is survived, in addition to his wife and mother, by two sons,
    Kenneth Richard Barner of Middleburg RD, and David Laverne Barner at
    home; three granddaughters, Cathy, May Lou, and Wanda Lee Barner all
    of Middleburg RD: four sisters, Mrs. Lester Book of Orbisonia, Pa.;
    Mrs. Clayton Fogel of Lewisburg; Mrs. Harry Weaver of Landisville,
    Pa.; and Mrs. Stanford Aumiller of Beaver Springs; five brothers,
    Malvern of Burnham; Palmer of Enola; Charles of Allentown, Herman of
    Lewistown RD; and Robert of Lewistown; and a number of nieces and
    ephews.
    Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 1:30 p.m. from the
    Garman funeral home, North Front St., Liverpool with Rev. George
    Peters, pastor of St. Paul's EUB Church, Liverpool RD, officiating.
    Interment will follow in Barner's (Saint John's) Lutheran Church Cemet
    ery Liverpool RD 1, Perry Co, PA, Liverpool RD.

    MRS. EMMA E. BARNER

    PORT TREVORTON - Mrs. Emma Elizabeth Barner, 65, Port Trevorton
    RD1, died at 10:25 a.m. Saturday in the Doctors' Convalescent Center,
    Selinsgrove, where she had been a resident for two days.
    Prior to being admitted to the center she had been a patient in the
    Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg, since Sept. 10. She had
    been transferred to the Evangelical from the Geisinger Medical
    Center, Danville, wherre she was admitted Aug. 3.
    Her husband, Victor W. Barner, died in 1966.
    Early in life, she was employed at the Port Trevorton Silk Mill.
    Later, she was employed at the Selinsgrove Center, retiring in April
    1980, because of ill health.
    Born Nov. 11, 1915, in Liverpool RD1, Perry Co, she was the
    daughter of the late Edward and Mary Alice Funk Strawser.
    Mrs. Barner was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist church,
    Liverpool RD1.
    Surviving are two sons, Kenneth R. of Port Trevorton RD1 and David
    L. of Middleburg RD1; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren;
    and three brothers, Benjamin Strawser Sr. of Liverpool RD1, Elmer
    Strawser of Fleming, N.J., and George Strawser of Millerstown RD2.
    The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the George P.
    Garman Funeral Home, Liverpool, by the Rev. Lear E. Shambach and the
    Rev. George V. Peters. Burial will be in Barner's (Saint John's) Luth
    eran Church Cemetery Liverpool RD 1, Perry Co, PA,
    Liverpool RD1.
    Friends may call in the funeral home Tuesday evening.
