Lewis D. "Lewie" Snook, 70, husband of Iolene (Lamey) Snook, of 111 Sn
ook Lane, Loganton, Pa., passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, a
t Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, Mahoning Twp, Montour Co, PA.

Born on Jan. 27, 1941, in Loganton, Pa., he was the son of the late Wo
odrow Wilson and Maude M. (Washburn) Snook.

He was currently employed by Webb Super Gro as a truck driver. He wa
s also formerly employed by HRI and Dunkle and Grieb as a truck drive
and mechanic. In earlier years he was a dairy farmer and drove a mil
k truck for himself and Hawksworth Trucking.

Lewie and Iolene were wed on March 1, 1958, and shared over 53 years o
f marriage together.

He was a member of the Sugar Valley Church of the Brethren. He was a f
ounder and Director of the Clinton County Fair and helped provide muc
h of the electrical service. He was also earlier in life active as a 4
H leader.

He is survived by his wife and four sons, David L. Snook (Pam) of Loga
ton, Rodney P. Snook (Dawn) of Lykens, Gale L. Snook (Tina) of Lock H
aven and Lewis D. Snook Jr. of Mill Hall; three daughters, Bonnie L. B
eck of Loganton, Ellen K. Meyer (Sam) of Temple, Texas and Connie L. M
artin of Loganton; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He i
s also survived by five brothers, Kenneth Snook (Norma) of Jersey Shor
e, John Snook (Patricia) of Fla., Ed Snook (Jeri) of Antes Fort, Willi
am Snook (Dorothy) of Fla. and Joseph Snook of Bronx, N.Y.; and two si
sters, Lois McGarvey (Richard) Brooksville, Fla. and Lucy Clymer of Lo
ck Haven.

Along with his parents, he was predeceased by a grandson, Jeremy Smelt
z; a brother, Thomas Snook; and two sisters, Virginia and Elaine Snook
.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2011, at 11 a.
m. in the Sugar Valley Church of the Brethren, Eastville, Pa., with Mr
. William Mauck officiating. A visitation will be held in the church o
Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. Private interment will be held at the con
venience of the family in the adjoining church cemetery. The family wi
ll provide the flowers, if desired, memorials may be made to the Suga
Valley Church of the Brethren, 2305 E. Winter Road, Eastville, PA 17
747.

The funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Wayne P. Urbine Funera
l Home, Inc., 95 E. Main St., Loganton, Pa.
