    Reed F. Lehman
    Reed F. Lehman, 82, R.R. 1 Northumberland, died Monday afternoon, Apri
    l 21, 2003, in Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg, where he ha
    d been hospitalized for the past week.
    He was born Feb. 23, 1921 in Booneville, Clinton Co, a son of the lat
    e Russell R. and Ruth Irene (Grenninger) Lehman. On Aug. 5, 1944, he m
    arried the former Pearl L. Barner. His death ends a marital union of 5
    8 years.
    He was a 1939 graduate of Sugar Valley High School in Loganton.
    Mr. Lehman was a United States Army Air Force Veteran and served durin
    g World War II.
    He was formerly employed at Piper Aircraft, Lock Haven. Later he worke
    d for PA Power and Light Company as a plant analyst in the water treat
    ment department, starting in Lock Haven and later moving to the Shamok
    in Dam plant. He retired in 1983 from the Washingtonville plant, afte
    43 years of service.
    Mr. Lehman was a member of Eureka Lodge No. 404 Free and Accepted Maso
    s of Northumberland which he served as a past master, and the William
    sport Consistory.
    He was a life member of Norry Rod and Gun Club, and a member of Northu
    mberland-Point Twp Senior Action Center, and Roaring Creek Rod and Gu
    Club of Poe Valley. He served several years as a Point Twp superviso
    .
    Mr. Lehman was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he enjoyed shooting t
    ap and skeet, for which he received many trophies for his marksmanshi
    p. He also enjoyed gardening and raising flowers and took special prid
    e in his rose garden.
    He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Northumberland.
    Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Jeanne M. Karchne
    of Lock Haven; a son, Robert J. Lehman of R.R. 3 Sunbury; three gran
    dsons, Chad R., Justin W. and Brock D. Lehman; and a sister, June E. S
    chrack of Watsontown.
    Visitors may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Joseph W. Epler Fun
    eral Home, Second and King streets, Northumberland. The Masonic servic
    e will be held at 9 p.m.
    The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home b
    y the Rev. Mark Hagy.
    Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Northumberland.

    Pearl L. Lehman, 94, of Northumberland, formerly of Hilbish Heights, l
    ater Oak Park and at the Lewis Building, passed away on Wednesday, Feb
    . 28, 2018, at Nottingham Village, Northumberland, where she had bee
    a resident.
    She was born July 21, 1923, in Lamar, a daughter of the late Grover Cl
    evland and Nancy Elizabeth Barner. On Aug. 5, 1944, she married Reed F
    . Lehman who preceded her in death on April 21, 2003.
    Pearl attended Mill Hall High School.
    She was a fly tier for the Pequea Fish Hook Factory in Loganton and la
    ter became a manager for W.T. Grants, Sunbury.
    She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Northumberland wh
    ere she used her knitting talents for the Guidepost Project, Knit fo
    Kids.
    Along with her passion for knitting, Pearl also enjoyed playing bing
    o and working on puzzles.
    She is survived by her son, Robert L. Lehman of Sunbury; three grandso
    s, Chad Lehman and wife Nicole of Virginia, Justin Lehman of Duncanno
    , and Brock Lehman and wife Beth of Sunbury; four great-grandchildren
    , Cameron, Alexander, Addison and Jackson; and one brother and sister-
    in-law, Jimmy H. and Sandra Barner of Mill Hall.
    In addition to her parents and husband of 58 years, she was preceded i
    death by one daughter, Jeanne M. Karchner; two sisters, Betty Haffle
    y and Marie Rogers; and four brothers, Clifford, Raymond, Grover and G
    ordon Barner.
    Friends and family may call from 6 to 7:45 p.m. Monday where a servic
    e of the Eastern Star will follow at 7:45, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tues
    day, followed by the funeral at 11, at the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Hom
    e, 210 King St., Northumberland, with Pastor Leslie Halchak officiatin
    g.
    Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Northumberland.
    Contributions in Pearl's memory may be made to the American Cancer Soc
    iety, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
