    Mrs. Joan Clark Barner, 80, died Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Cape F
    ear Valley Medical Center.

    A graveside service will be held, Monday, January 4, 2106 at 10:00 a.m
    . in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery with Rev. Douglas Jordan, offic
    iating. She attended Vaughn Memorial Presbyterian Church. The family w
    ill receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Jernigan-Warre
    Funeral Home on Monday.

    Mrs. Barner worked for the National Bank of Sanford and later spent ov
    er 50 years in Real Estate. She

    is survived by her husband of 59 years, Larry; sons, Allen and wife Wa
    da of Suffolk, Va. and Richard of Anderson Creek; grandchildren, Rhen
    da and husband Joe Kozur of Fayetteville, Randy of Anderson Creek an
    d Kelly of Suffolk, Va.; great granddaughter, Lauren of Fayetteville
    ; sister, Ruth Lerche of Sanford.

    Florence M. Barner, 94, a former resident of Mill Hall, died Tuesday
    , Jan. 6, 2009 at Susque-View Nursing Home.

    She was born Aug. 9, 1914 in Beech Creek. Florence was married to Lawr
    ence A. Barner, who died in 1975.

    Florence worked as an inspector for Sylvania. She was a member of Mil
    l Hall United Methodist Church.

    Surviving are a son, Lawrence (Joan) Barner of Fayetteville, N.C.; thr
    ee daughters, Shirley Temple of Surprise, Ariz., Nancy (Cliff) Huxle
    y of Beverly Hills, Calif., and Carole Barner of San Antonio, Texas; f
    our grandsons, four great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter
    ; and a sister, Shirley Young of Lock Haven.

    The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009 a
    t the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall, with the Rev. V
    alerie M. Delooze officiating. Friends and relatives will be receive
    d at the funeral chapel one hour prior to the service. Interment wil
    l be at Rest Haven Memorial Park.

    The family will provide the flowers. Memorial contributions can be mad
    e to Susque-View Nursing Home in her memory.
