    March 18, 1929 - September 11, 2017

    Elizabeth Addie Matson, known to most as Betty, was born and raised o
    a farm in Hockinson and spent her entire 88 yeas in Hockinson, Washi
    gton and Battle Ground, Washington.

    She married Mel Mason in 1948 and they had three children. Her secon
    d marriage was to the late Dick Barner. She worked many different jobs
    , but her last and favorite was driving school bus for Battle Ground S
    chools in Battle Ground, Washington. She loved "her kids" and they lov
    ed her as she was kind and fair to each of them. Her favorites were th
    e Special Ed kids.

    She was a talented painter and also loved sewing, gardening, listenin
    g to music and watching the Trailblazers, a N.B.A. basketball team i
    Portland, Oregon. Most definitely her greatest joy was in her six gr
    andchildren and her 11 great-grandchildren, who all adored her.

    Betty is survived by her three children: daughter Salluy and husband W
    ayne Weisbecker in Sacramento, California, daughter Molly Mason and hu
    sband Jay Ungar in Saugerties, New York, and son James Mason and wif
    e Dusty in HOckinson, Washington. She is also survived by Dick Barner'
    s three children: Connie O'Rourke, Jim Barner and Bob Barner.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Hattie Mattson, h
    er brothers Franklin and John, sister Marjorie, Dick Barner and his da
    ughter Patty.

    Betty her many friends, was loved by all and will be dearly missed. Sh
    e asked that we say goodbye to all of those she was unable to say good
    -bye to herself. She wanted everyone to "keep all of the happy memorie
    s" and to "be strong".

    She is resting at Elim Cemetery in Brush Prairie, Washington and reque
    sted that no services be held.

    Elizabeth married Richard Hall BARNER on 7 Nov 1973. Richard (son of Theodore Harrison BARNER and Iris May WINTERS) was born on 5 Jan 1926 in Vancouver, Clark Co, WA; died on 29 Mar 1978 in Battle Ground, Clark Co, WA; was buried in Evergreen Memorial Gardens - Vancouver.
