    Ronald E. and Marcia S. Barner, 44 Peach Orchard Road, Mill Hall wer
    e united in marriage on July 31, 1965 at the Trinity United Methodis
    t Church in Lock Haven.

    They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 31, 2015, and e
    joyed a celebration of their love with family and friends at the Wood
    ward Cave Campground on Saturday, Aug. 1.

    They are the parents of two children, R. Kevin Barner (Wendy) and Char
    lene K. Brungard (David). They have six grandchildren and two great gr
    andchildren.

    They were blessed to have Marcia’s mother, Gladys Lamey, 95, attend th
    e celebration.

    Ronald E. Barner

    Ronald E. Barner, 78, of 44 Peach Orchard Rd., Mill Hall, died Nov. 1
    , 2018 at UPMC Lock Haven Hospital.

    Born June 19, 1940 in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Mahlon H
    . and Sarah L. Kunes Barner.

    On July 13, 1965 in the Trinity Methodist Church, Lock Haven he marrie
    d Marcia S. Waite who survives at home.

    Ron had worked as a carpenter for the M. H. Barner Contractors and wa
    s a machine operator at Clinton Paper Co. for 13 years.

    For the next 35 years he had worked at the TA Truckstop in Lamar as th
    e Property Maintenance Supervisor until he retired.

    Baptized in his youth at the Sylvan Hills Church Camp, Ron attended th
    e Salona/Mt. Bethel United Church of Christ Charge.

    He was a member of the Bald Eagle-Nittany High School Class of 1958 wh
    ere he was the class treasurer. He participated in the Off BEN Ave. Fo
    llies for a number of years and was a band parent officer while his ch
    ildren were in the band.

    Ron was a life member of the Nittany Valley Vol. Fire Co. where he ha
    d been president and assistant chief, fire police chief, a member of t
    he Clinton Co. Firemen’s Association and was the secretary for 25 year
    s; a member of the Central District and the state Firemen’s Assoc.

    Ron also was a charter member and Past Worthy President of the Fratern
    al Order of Eagles #4298, Lock Haven, and was the District 15 chairma
    for a number of years.

    He and his wife enjoyed camping and made many joyful family memories a
    t the outings.

    He is survived by one daughter, Charlene Kay (David A.) Brungard, of L
    ock Haven; a son, Ronald Kevin (Wendy) Barner, of Greenburr, Pa.; thre
    e sisters, Peggy Lou Heilman, of Fleetwood, Pa., Linda Poorman and Ela
    ine (Jerry) Winner, both of Mill Hall; six grandchildren, Brigette Bar
    er, Melinda (Mike) Regester, Ashley (Blair) Strouse, Russell (Chesney
    ) Brungard, Daniel Brungard and Bethany Brungard; three great-grandchi
    ldren, Ryan and Brody Strouse and Owen Regester and also nieces and ne
    phews.

    He was preceded in death by one niece, Bonnie Lou Heilman and two brot
    hers-in-law, Robert P. Heilman and Jack M. Poorman.

    A funeral service to honor the life of Ronald E. Barner will be held M
    onday, Nov. 5, 2018 at 1 p.m. in the Dean K. Wetzler, Jr. Funeral Home
    , 320 Main St., Mill Hall with Pastor Cindy Killinger officiating.

    Friends will be received in the funeral home from 11 a.m. until time o
    f services.

    Interment, Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mill Hall.

    The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Salona Unite
    d Church of Christ, the Nittany Valley Fire Co., the Jersey Shore Publ
    ic Library or the charity of the donor’s choice through the funeral ho
    me.

    From the "Lock Haven Express," Thursday, 4 April 1951:
    Mill Hall - Clarence H. BARNER, 76, died suddenly at 4:10 p.m. yesterday at his home after being stricken while at work as a carpenter on the Earl STROUSE farm, Cedar Run.
    Mr. BARNER was working with his son, Mahlon H., Mill Hall contractor, when he suddenly became ill. He was taken home by his son but died shortly after.
    A native of Bald Eagle Twp, he resided in Mill Hall for the past 23 years.
    In addition to his son, he is survived by his wife, Matilda, four other sons and two daughters, Harrry B., Howard RD; Foster A. Harrisburg; Leroy S., Mill Hall; and Floyd I., Rebersburg; Mrs. Fletcher Campbell, Lock Haven, and Mrs. Kenneth LUCAS, Salona; 26 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; also four brothers and one sister, Irvin O., Boyd C., and G. Cleveland all of Mill Hall; Clyde of Merser; and Mrs. Frank
    DeLong, Lamar.
