    e Valley Personal Care, Milesburg. He was born in Nittany on Jan. 25
    , 1925, a son of the late Harry M. and Edna Pearl Rogers Gates. He pro
    udly served his country during WW II in the U.S. Army in the 66th Divi
    sion and received several decorations. Bill was employed at Piper Airc
    aft and then with Cerro, where he worked for 37 1/2 years. He was o
    f the protestant faith. He was a life member of the Beech Creek Americ
    an Legion, VFW Post 8269 of Howard and the Lock Haven Elks. He is surv
    ived by his former wife, Florence A. Litz, of Treasure Lake; two daugh
    ters, Judy Gates, of Lakeland, Fla., and Kathy Snook (Barry), of Snyde
    town; one son, Roger Gates (Cathy), of Treasure Lake; two sisters, Do
    is Yearick, of Lamar, and Shirley Bowmaster, of State College; thre
    e brothers, H. Richard "Dick", of Howard, Earl, of Texas, and Dale, o
    f Bellefonte; and two grandchildren, Shawn Best and Amanda Gates. A pr

    From the "Lock Haven Express," Thursday, 4 April 1951:
    Mill Hall - Clarence H. BARNER, 76, died suddenly at 4:10 p.m. yesterday at his home after being stricken while at work as a carpenter on the Earl STROUSE farm, Cedar Run.
    Mr. BARNER was working with his son, Mahlon H., Mill Hall contractor, when he suddenly became ill. He was taken home by his son but died shortly after.
    A native of Bald Eagle Twp, he resided in Mill Hall for the past 23 years.
    In addition to his son, he is survived by his wife, Matilda, four other sons and two daughters, Harrry B., Howard RD; Foster A. Harrisburg; Leroy S., Mill Hall; and Floyd I., Rebersburg; Mrs. Fletcher Campbell, Lock Haven, and Mrs. Kenneth LUCAS, Salona; 26 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; also four brothers and one sister, Irvin O., Boyd C., and G. Cleveland all of Mill Hall; Clyde of Merser; and Mrs. Frank
    DeLong, Lamar.
