    Mary Lou Barner, 60, of Liverpool, passed away suddenly and unexpected
    ly on Sunday morning, Jan. 17, 2016, in the emergency room at the Sunb
    ury Community Hospital. She was born on Dec. 17, 1955, in Lewisburg
    , a daughter of Betty (Sechman) Fisher, of Selinsgrove and the late Ma
    shall Fisher. She was married to Timothy L. Barner who survives. He
    passing breaks a marital union of 42 years. She was a 1973 graduat
    e of Selinsgrove High School. Mary Lou was employed at the Birdie’s Ne
    st at Shade Mountain Golf Course, Middleburg, and formerly assisted he
    uncle and father at the Sunbury Markethouse. She was an active membe
    of St. Thomas Independent Brethren in Christ Church, Mount Pleasan
    t Mills. She also assisted the Fremont Volunteer Fire Company with com
    munity activities. Mary Lou enjoyed bowling and shopping. She also enj
    oyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. In a
    ddition to her husband and mother, Mary Lou is survived by three child
    en and their spouses, Eric A. and Sheri Barner, of Millerstown, Scot
    t E. and Shanna Barner, of Thompsontown, and April M. and Wayne Hummel
    , of Mount Pleasant Mills; seven grandchildren, Jordan Barner, Alyss
    a Barner, Amiah Barner, Veronica Hummel, Janessa Hummel, Josiah Barner
    , and Charlotte Barner; three sisters and their spouses, Linda and Ti
    m Charles, of Selinsgrove, her twin, Marie and Steve Mull, of Selinsgr
    ove, and Tammie and Steve Tucker, of Lewisburg; a sister-in-law, Deb F
    isher, of Lewisburg; and many nieces and nephews. Mary Lou was precede
    d in death by one brother, Dale Fisher. Friends and family are invite
    d to the visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and from 10 to 11 a.m
    . Thursday, followed by the funeral at 11, at St. Thomas Independent B
    ethren in Christ Church, 1070 St. Thomas Road, Mount Pleasant Mills
    , with Pastor Roger L. Womer officiating. Burial will be in St. Thoma
    s Cemetery, Mount Pleasant Mills. The George P. Garman Funeral Homes I
    c., 9366 Route 35, Mount Pleasant Mills have been entrusted with th
    e arrangements.

    LIVERPOOL - Charlotte Margaret Barner, 84, of Liverpool RR1, died a
    t 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2001, in the Evangelical Community Hospital
    , Lewisburg.

    Born Dec. 27, 1916, in Derry Twp, Dauphin Co, she was the daughter o
    f the late Austin Peter and Della (Zeiders) Glotfelter. Her husband, G
    eorge D. Barner, whom she married June 4, 1938, died Feb. 20, 1981.

    Surviving are: children, Robert D. Barner, Mount Pleasant Mills RR1, T
    imothy L. Barner, Liverpool RR1, Mrs. Kenneth L. (Mae F.) Marshall, Sa
    lisbury, Md., and Mrs. Robert E. (June E.) Klinefelter, Lockport, NY
    ; and seven grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kitty Barner in 1987; an
    d brothers and sisters, William Glotfelter, Lester Gladfelter, Ruth St
    oup and Alveria Glotfelter, in infancy.

    She was educated at the Watts Grammar schoolhouse in Juniata County.

    She had been employed by the former Snyders and the Good Samaritan Con
    valescent Homes, both in Liverpool, where she was a nursing assistant.

    She was a member of St. Thomas Independent Brethren in Christ Church
    , Mount Pleasant Mills RR2 and the Liverpool Ambulance League, Liverpo
    ol.

    She was accomplished in piecing quilts, was an avid reader, loved flow
    ers and enjoyed birds, especially hummingbirds.

    Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the St. Thomas Independen
    t Brethren in Christ Church, Mount Pleasant Mills RR2, with the Rev. R
    oger L. Womer officiating. Interment will be in the Salem United Metho
    dist Cemetery, Liverpool RR1.

    Family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Friday at the George P. Garman Fu
    eral Home, Mount Pleasant Mills and from 10 a.m. until the time of th
    e service Saturday at the church.
