Mary Catherine Barner, 81, of Enola, passed away on Thursday, May 21,2
009 in the Harrisburg Hospital.
She was born on June 5, 1927 in Harrisburg, to the late George W. an
d Mary (Conrad) Wolf.
She had attended John Harris High School and Thompson College. She ha
d been employed with Murphy's 5&10, the Harrisburg Paper Company, th
e Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and was a tax assessor for East Pennsbo
o Twp. She was a member of Enola Sportsman's Club and the Enola Ameri
can Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
She was the widow of Park I. Barner, Sr., who passed away in 1992.
Surviving are a son Park I. Barner, Jr. and his wife Gail of Harrisbur
g, 2 sisters, Dora Hartman of New Oxford, and Gloria Gregor and her hu
s -band Roy of Landisburg; several nieces and nephews as well as her b
eloved cat, Velvet.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, May 27, 200
9 in the Pen -brook United Church of Christ, 56 Banks Street, Pen -bro
ok, PA with Rev. Dr. Robert S. Stoudt officiating. Visitation will b
e from 10:30-11 a.m., on Wednesday in the church.
