  1. 6.   Robert L. "Bon" WALLIS was born on 31 Jan 1928 in Liverpool, Perry Co, PA; died on 14 May 2018 in Mechanicsburg, Cumberland Co, PA; was buried in Liverpool Union Cemetery - Liverpool.

    Robert L. "Bon" Wallis, 90, of Liverpool, entered into rest on Monday
    , May 14, 2018, at UPMC Pinnacle West Shore Hospital.
    He was born Jan. 31, 1928, in Liverpool, a son of the late Edwin B. Sr
    . and Mildred (Zaring) Wallis. He was married to the former Blanche Lo
    g who preceded him on Sept. 27, 2014. The couple were married for 6
    7 years at the time of her passing.

    Robert was a graduate of Liverpool High School.
    He began working with his father in the family poultry business in Liv
    erpool and continued that business for many years. Along with his lat
    e wife, they owned and operated the Ferryboat Campsites in Liverpool.
    He was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Liverpool
    , an active member of the Liverpool Lions club, the Zembo Shrine, Maso
    ic Lodge, Millersburg, and served on the Newport School Board.
    Robert enjoyed playing cards, traveling, and bowling.

    He is survived by four children and their spouses, Carolyn B. and Larr
    y Caldwell, R. Randall "Randy" and Jane Wallis, Cassandra "Sandi" an
    d Bob Folk, and E. Scott and Jo Wallis; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-gra
    dchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Ruthann Wallis; o
    e brother-in-law, David Broscious; and many nieces and nephews.
    Robert was preceded in death by one brother and sister-in-law, Edwin "
    Bud" Jr. and Twila Wallis; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Joan (W
    allis) Broscious and Marian W. and James E. Zeiders Jr..

    Friends and family are invited to the visitation from 9 to 11 a.m. Sat
    urday, May 26, at The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 1000 N. Fr
    ont St., Liverpool, followed by a celebration of life at 11, with th
    e Rev. David A. Sensenig officiating.
    Private interment will be in the Liverpool Union Cemetery.

    In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in loving memory of Rob
    ert to his church.

    The George P. Garman Funeral Homes Inc., 606 N. Front St., Liverpool h
    ave been entrusted with the arrangements.

    Prior to being hospitalized, he had been a resident in the Doctors'
    Convalescent Center, Selinsgrove, for several months.
    Born Oct. 23, 1897, at Liverpool RD1, Perry Co, he was the son of th
    e late
    William Clarence and Ida Spicher Long. His wife, the former Susan Mar
    ia Lyter,
    died in 1969.
    Mr. Long was a lifelong farmer in Perry Co, retiring in 1967.
    He was a member of St. John's (Barner's) Lutheran Church, Liverpool RD
    1, and a
    member and officer of Barner's (Saint John's) Lutheran Church Cemeter
    y Liverpool RD 1, Perry Co, PA Association. He was also a member of
    the Perry Valley Grange, Millerstown RD1; and the Liverpool Senior Cit
    izens
    Center.
    Surviving are seven daughters, Mrs. Margaret Smeltzer of Harrisburg, M
    s.
    Julia Koller of Fort Myers, Fla., Mrs. Blanche Wallis and Mrs. Susan H
    off, both
    of Liverpool RD1, Mrs. Mildred Murphy and Mrs. Carol Wilfong, both o
    f Duncannon
    RD1, and Mrs. Isabelle Cameron of Hesston RD1; three sons, Roy C. of M
    illerstown
    RD2, Truman E. of Hummelstown RD1 and W. Palmer of LIverpool RD1; 20
    grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
    The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in St. John's (Barner's
    )
    Lutheran Church, Liverpool RD1, by the Rev. Paul E. Whitmoyer. Buria
    l will be
    in Barner's (Saint John's) Lutheran Church Cemetery Liverpool RD 1, P
    erry Co, PA.
    Friends may call in the George P. Garman Funeral Home, Liverpool, Thur
