FLORENCE A. LYTER
Florence A. Lyter, 81, formerly of Liverpool RR 1, died Thursday, Jun
e 8, 2006 in The Manor at Penn Village, Selinsgrove.
She was born July 6, 1924 in Richfield, Snyder Co, to the late Edgar S
. and Clare (Graybill) Shirk.
She retired as a call director for P.H.E.A.A., Harrisburg, and earlie
worked for local dress factories; a graduate of Fayette High School
, McAlisterville; a member of St. John (Barner’s) Lutheran Church, Liv
erpool, and Liverpool Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary; and enjoyed flowe
s and crocheting.
She was the widow of Barner W. Lyter.
Surviving are a son, David B. of Liverpool; a daughter, Shirley E. Ada
ms of rural Sunbury; two sisters-in-law, Carrie Shirk of Liverpool an
d Marie Shirk of Selinsgrove; four grandchildren, Michael S. Adams, An
gela K. Palfalvi, Brent J. Adams and Heather E. Adams; and four great-
grandchildren, Brandon Adams, Nikolas Palfalvi, Jordan Adams and Macke
zie Adams.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
Services were held June 12 in Garman Funeral Home, Liverpool, with th
e Rev. Peter H. Kuebler officiating. Burial was in St. John (Barner’s
) Cemetery.

SELINSGROVE - Florence A. Lyter, 81, a former resident of RR1 Liverpoo
l, entered into eternal rest at 4:25 a.m. Thursday, June 8, 2006, at t
he Manor at Penn Village, Selinsgrove.
She was born July 6, 1924, in Richfield, a daughter of the late Edga
S. and Clare (Graybill) Shirk. Her husband, Barner W. Lyter, precede
d her.
Mrs. Lyter graduated from Fayette High School, McAlisterville.
Earlier in life, Florence worked for various dress factories in the lo
cal area. She was then employed for 15 years as a call director for th
e PHEAA, Harrisburg, from where she retired.
Mrs. Lyter was a member of St. John (Barners) Lutheran Church, Liverpo
ol.
She was also a member of the Liverpool Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
Mrs. Lyter was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great-gran
dmother, who enjoyed quality time spent with her family. She also enjo
yed flowers and crocheting.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, David B. and Pauletta Lyte
of Liverpool; one daughter and son-in-law, Shirley E. and John D. Ad
ams of rural Sunbury; four grandchildren and their spouses, Michael S
. and Robin Adams, Angela K. and Theodore Palfalvi, Brent J. and Allis
on Adams, and Heather E. Adams; four great-grandchildren, Brandon Adam
s, Nikolas Palfalvi, and Jordan and Mackenzie Adams; two sisters-in-la
w, Carrie Shirk of Liverpool and Marie Shirk of Selinsgrove; as well a
s nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded by four brothers and on
e sister.
Family, friends and others will gather for the viewing from 7 to 9 p.m
. Sunday and 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the George P. Garman Funeral Hom
e Inc., 606 N. Front St., Liverpool, where the funeral service will fo
llow at 11 with the Rev. Peter H. Kuebler officiating.
Burial will follow in St. John (Barners) Cemetery, Liverpool.
