Charlotte M. Gipe Obituary
Our beautiful Mother, Charlotte M. Gipe 98, passed away December 31, 2
017. She was predeceased by her wonderful husband of over 50 years, Le
ster C. Gipe in 1997.
Charlotte was born in Aquashicola, Pa. and raised in Palmerton, Pa., t
he daughter of the late Arthur and Myrtle (Heiney) Silliman. She wa
s a member of the Tree of Life Lutheran Church. She was retired from S
tate of Pa. Dept of Labor and Industry as a statistician. She was a me
mber of the Retired Teachers Association of Pa. She was the first woma
to be elected to Vestry of Zion Lutheran Church of Harrisburg. She w
as a graduate of Indiana University of Pa.
Charlotte is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline G. McElhattan of Eno
la; her son, Christopher J. Gipe of Harrisburg; three granddaughters
; five great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 11 A.M. a
t Tree of Life Lutheran Church, 1492 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg. Buri
al will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, at the conve
ience of the family.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10 to 11 A.M. at the church
, prior to the service.
The family would like to thank the staff and aides at Kindred Place fo
the loving care of our Mother.
