    Henry W. Hauser Jr., B. Colleen Hauser
    Henry W. Hauser Jr., 83, and B. Colleen Hauser, 78, both of Antes Fort
    , recently passed away following lengthy illnesses.

    Henry passed away Sunday, Jan. 7, 2007 in the Williamsport Hospital.

    Colleen passed away Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007 at her home.

    They were married Dec. 23, 1960.

    Born July 23, 1923 in Antes Fort, Henry was the son of Henry W. Sr. an
    d Lydia Kreitz Hauser.

    Colleen was born March 31, 1928 in Red Lion, and was the daughter of R
    . Bruce and Blanche Viola Flaharty Poet.

    They were both members of the St. John Evangelical Church.

    Henry was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and served with the 5th Inf
    antry 50th Field artillery unit in campaigns in Normandy, Ardennes For
    est, France, Rhineland and Central Europe. He was awarded the Silver S
    tar as a radio operator with the Forward Observation party in the Batt
    le of the Bulge and later a Bronze Star.

    He reitred from Alcan Cable in 1985, where he was awarded a patent fo
    a cable-coating extruder head system. He once owned and operated Hau
    ser TV Cable that served the Antes Fort, Salladasburg and Cogan Hous
    e areas.

    He served as Nippenose Twp Supervisor for 30 years and also served a
    s superintendent of the Antes Fort Village Park, home of the Henry W
    . Hauser Jr. Softball Complex, named in his honor.

    Colleen was a one-time member of the Business and Professional Women o
    f Jersey Shore and was a member of the Antes Fort Recreational committ
    ee. She worked for many years as a clerk at Cohick Paint and Supply, f
    ormerly of Williamsport.

    Surviving Henry and Colleen are two daughters, Dawn M. Hauser and Virg
    inia “Ginger” C. Maffett; a son, R. Stanton “Stan” Breon Jr.; 10 grand
    children and 13 great-grandchildren.

    Henry is survived by two brothers, Melvin L. “Bud” Hauser of English C
    enter and Frederic J. Hauser of Linden; and was predeceased by two bro
    thers, Jack K. and Alfred L. Hauser, and a sister, Esther Hauser.

    Colleen is survived by a brother, Richard B. “Dick” Poet of Red Lion.

    Friends and relatives may call at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home
    , Ltd. “A Life Celebration Home,” 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, fr
    om 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Relatives and friends are invited to Henry an
    d Colleen’s Life Celebration services to be held at 11 a.m. Monday a
    t the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church with their pastor, Rev. Ker
    y R. Aucker officiating. Burial will be in the Rest Haven Memorial Pa
    k.

    The family suggests memorial contributions in their memory can be mad
    e to the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 229 S. Broad St., Jerse
    y Shore, Pa. 17740.
