Died after lingering a year following a tree falling on his back. Daniel Barner was born on Sunday, 28 April 1844 at Carroll, Greene Township, Clinton County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Henry Barner and Catharine Kern. Daniel married, at the age of 24 Catharine Engle, age 22 on Sunday, 6 September 1868. He died on Saturday, 7 April 1928 at the age of 83 years, 11 months and 10 days at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. He was buried at Sugar Valley Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Eastville, Greene Township, Clinton County, Pennsylvaia.

Adam Barner was born in Switzerland and emigrated to America in early manhood before the period of the Revolution. He was hired out for 7 years to pay for his passage across the ocean. Adam Barner (ca.1740-ca.1805) immigrated in 1758 from Berne, Switzerlad to Berks Co, Pennsylvania, and married Veronica Fanny Bunn (widow of John Bunn). He fought in the American Revolution and then moved to Perry Co, Pennsylvania. Descendants lived in Pennsylvania, the midwest, the west coast and elsewhere.
