    Christine C. Welshans, 77, widow of Jack B. Welshans, formerly of 241
    1 4th Ave., Altoona, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009, at Valle
    y View Home, Blair County.

    Christine C. Welshans, 77, Altoona, died Tuesday at Valley View Home.

    She was born in Lock Haven, daughter of the late John and Edna (Harbac
    h) Limbert. She married Jack B. Welshans Dec. 13, 1952, in Spokane, Wa
    sh., and he preceded her in death July 20, 1992.

    Surviving are six children: Shirley Imler (John), Christine R. Trafica
    te, Jacqueline Tepsic (Bruce), Susan Crotsley, Patrick (Julie) and Ha
    y (Susan), all of Altoona; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren
    ; a sister, Doris Smith of Houston, Texas; and numerous nieces and nep
    hews.

    Christine retired as a private duty registered nurse after 40 years o
    f service. She was a 1949 graduate of Altoona High School, a 1952 grad
    uate of Altoona Nursing School and was a member of the PA Nurses Assoc
    iation.

    She was a lifelong member of Faith United Methodist Church. She enjoye
    d football, especially Altoona High, Penn State and the Steelers, an
    d also enjoyed high school and college basketball, her dogs and especi
    ally spending time with her family.

    Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4
    , 2009, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc. (www.maukandyates.com). A fu
    eral service will be held at Urbine Funeral Home, Loganton, Pa. Inter
    ment at Mount Union Cemetery, Clinton County.

    Born on Jan. 30, 1932 in Lock Haven, she was a daughter of John and Ed
    a (Harbach) Limbert.

    She had been a private duty registered nurse and had retired after 4
    0 years of service.

    Christine was a 1949 graduate of Altoona High School and a 1952 gradua
    te of Altoona Nursing School.

    She was a lifelong member of Faith United Methodist Church and was als
    o a member of the PA Nurses Association.

    Christine enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penn State and Alt
    oona High School football.

    She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

    Christine is survived by four daughters, Shirley (John) Imler, Christi
    e R. Traficante, Jacqueline (Bruce) Tepsic and Susan Crotsley, and tw
    o sons, Patrick (June) Welshans and Harry (Susan) Welshans, all of th
    e Altoona area; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a sister, Do
    is Smith of Houston, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.

    The funeral service will be Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009, at 1 p.m. in th
    e Wayne P. Urbine Funeral Home Inc., 95 E. Main St., Loganton with Pas
    tor Ken Geisewite officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral hom
    e two hours prior to the service. Final interment will be in Mt. Unio
    (Tin Church) Cemetery, Carroll, Pa
