Richard L. (Dick) Barner Sr., 65, formerly of Lock Haven, Clinton Co
, PA, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2009 in Johnson City, NY, after b
attling with cancer.
Richard was born on July 22, 1943 in Lock Haven PA, son of Walter an
d Lyda Barner.
Richard graduated from Lock Haven Sr. High School in 1963, he was empl
oyed for the F.W. Woolworth's Company as a manger and then drafted i
the U.S Army and was a carpenter and contractor by trade. He was a m
ember of the Woodcarvers Group of Deltona, FL, Deltona United Church o
f Christ, F&AM Lodge.
He is survived by his loving wife Jean; son Richard L. (Stephanie) Bar
er Jr. of Johnson City, NY; his granddaughters, Alexandria and Victor
ia; brother Walter C. Barner Jr.; sister Betty Witt of Lock Haven, Cli
ton Co, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded by his parents and brother Lt. Col Harry W. Barner of Lock Ha
ven PA and sisters, Ruth Barner Yost and Madeline Grace Barner.
Services will be held privately with the family. Memorials may be mad
e in Dick's name to the Deltona United Church of Christ, 1649 Providen
ce Blvd., Deltona, FL 32725.

He graduated from Lock Havaen High School in 1963 and was employed b

e U.S. Army. He was a carpenter and contractor by trade.
He was a member of the Woodcarvers Group of Deltona, Fla., Deltona Uni
ted Church of Christ and F&AM Lodge.
