Michael David Barner, 44, of Linden, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 20
, 2017, at his residence.

Michael was born on May 5, 1973, in Williamsport, and was the son of D
avid G. Barner, of Jersey Shore, and the late Joye L. (Fulkrod) Barner
.

He graduated from Jersey Shore High School in 1991. He worked at Grizz
ly Imports, co-owned and operated Ed’s Market in Williamsport

and was recently the third-shift manager at Wegman's in Williamsport
. Michael attended the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Jerse
y Shore. He enjoyed watching the Denver Broncos and Boston Red Sox an
d enjoyed fishing.

In addition to his father David and his wife Christine A. Barner, he i
s survived by: one son, Kaden M. Barner; one daughter, Kayla B. Barne
(Todd Mack); one granddaughter, Norah R. Mack; one brother, Thomas A
. (Colleen) Barner; and one sister, Tammy S. (Edward) Haltenhoff, al
l of Jersey Shore, as well as two nephews and two nieces.

There will be a gathering of family and friends from 10 a.m. to noon o
Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017 at the Christian Missionary Alliance Church
, 1515 Cemetery St., Jersey Shore, where the funeral will be held at n
oon. The service will be officiated by his uncles, the Revs. John Barn
er and Robert Barner. Burial will follow in Jersey Shore Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA.

Arrangements are being handled by the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home
, 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore.

Gardner S. (Gabe) Barner, 88, of R.R. 1 Jersey Shore, died Monday, Jul
y 9, 2001, in ManorCare Health Services, Jersey Shore, after a brief i
llness.
Born Oct. 3, 1912 in Antes Fort, he was the son of the late Gardner O
. and Eva Schuman Barner.
He was married to the former Bernice C. Shields on April 3, 1941. The
y had celebrated their 60th anniversary this year.
Funeral services will be Thursday at the church, 1515 Cemetery St., Je
sey Shore, at 10:30 a.m. His sons, Rev. John and Robert Barner, assis
ted by his pastor, the Rev. Edgar Manns, will officiate. Burial will b
e in Jersey Shore Cemetery. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m
. Wednesday at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, Jersey Shore, and f
om 10 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Bernice C. Barner, 90, of Jersey Shore, Pa., passed away on Saturday
, Sept. 26, 2009 at the Jersey Shore Hospital. She was the wife of th
e late Gardner S. Barner with whom she shared 61 years of marriage.

Bernice was born on Feb. 13, 1919 in Jersey Shore, and was the daughte
of the late Harry and Claire Forcey Shields.

Bernice was a homemaker and a member for over 30 years of the Mountai
View Christian Missionary Alliance Church. She taught Sunday school
, and was a member of the Women's Church Group.

Bernice is survived by four sons, David G. Barner of Jersey Shore; Rev
. John M. Barner (Joanne) of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Rev. Robert D. B
arner (Sheryl) of Northumberland, Pa.; Joseph P. Barner (Rachel) of Ho
pkinsville, Ky.; a brother, Dale Shields of Jersey Shore; three sister
s, Phyllis A. Eggler of Woolrich, Pa.; Doris Barner of Eastville, Pa.
; Olive Miller of Woolrich, Pa.; and by ten grandchildren and seven gr
eat grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her husband, July 9, 2001; a daughter in-law, Jo
ye Barner, Oct. 2 2008; a daughter, Shirley Miller, May 26, 1972; tw
o sisters, Evelyn Clark and Velda Mims; and by three brothers, Donald
, Ralph and Richard Shields.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Bernice's Life Celebratio
from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009 at the Rearick-Carpenter Fu
eral Home, Ltd. 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, Pa. and from 10 t
o 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, at the Mountain View Christian Missiona
