    Gladys B. Barner, 97, a resident of the Sarah Todd Home, passed away F
    ebruary 11,
    2008.
    Born July 19, 1910 in Mechanicsburg, she was the daughter of the lat
    e David and Sadie
    Bloser.
    In addition to her parents, her 1st husband, Ralph Laury, 2nd husband
    , Major Elwood M.
    Barner, sister, Helen Kammerer, brother, David Bloser, III, niece, Jan
    e Patterson and
    step-daughter, Carol Harpe, all preceded her in death.
    Gladys is survived by nieces, Julie Beil of Boiling Springs, Deborah K
    ammerer of
    Mechanicsburg, Barbara Reinike of Salt Lake City, Susan Bream of Getty
    sburg, Elizabeth
    Patterson of North Hollywood, CA, Ann Jordan of Carlisle, Nancy Shau
    b of Dover;
    step-daughter, Linda Brenneman of Carlisle; several great nieces and g
    eat nephews;
    several step-grandchildren and step great grandchildren also survive h
    er.
    She was a member of the First Lutheran Evangelical Church of Carlisl
    e and belonged to
    AARP, local and national. Throughout her lifetime, she traveled worldw
    ide. She was the
    Secretary Treasurer of her family business, Bloser Baby Shoe Company
    . Gladys never
    missed voting in an election and she won an award for 50 years of voti
    g. Gladys was a
    good friend to many people and had many friends. She will be deeply mi
    ssed.
    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sarah To
    dd Home, 1000
    West South Street, Carlisle, PA 17013 or to her church, 1st Evangelica
    l Lutheran Church,
    1000 East High Street, Carlisle, PA 17013.
    A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
