Lorena M. Skobodzinski, age 66, of Cranesville, Pa., died Saturday, De
cember 19, 2009 at Hamot Medical Center after a brief illness. She wa
s born August 21, 1943 in Erie, a daughter of Marvin Litz of Erie an
d the late Marian Straub Litz. She enjoyed crafts and her friends. I
addition to her father she is survived by her husband of 47 years, E
dward Skobodzinski of Cranesville, Pa.; one daughter, Jeannette L. Sum
er and husband Walt of Cranesville, Pa.; one son, Edward G. Skobodzin
ski and wife Ashley of Lexington, N.C. and five sisters, Marilyn Boehn
lein and husband Barry of OH, Marian Burge and husband William of Wate
ford, Pa., Charlene Rakowski and husband Jerry of Cranesville, Pa., E
lsie Page of Erie and Roberta Braendel and husband Richard of Erie. Sh
e is also survived by six grandchildren, two great grandchildren and m
any nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orl
ando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Wednesday from 2 t
o 5 and 7 to 9 pm. Entombment will be private in Calvary Cemetery. Mem

Marvin C. Litz, 93, of Erie, went to be with his Lord and his wife o
f 57 years Saturday morning, November 13, 2010. A resident of Erie al
l of his life he was born September 13, 1917, a son of the late John a
d Lorena Litz. Marvin served in the United States Army during World W
ar II and worked at the VA Medical Center for over 30 years before ret
iring in 1978. He was a former member of the First Church of God. He w
as a member of the American Legion Carl Neff Post and N.A.R.F.E.. He e
joyed gardening, birds, his dog Fergus, and spending time with his fa
mily, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In additio
to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Mar
ian L. Straub Litz; two daughters, Suzanne Litz in infancy and Loren
a Skobodzinski; three brothers, John, Charles, and W.B. Franklin Litz
; one sister, Genevieve Litz; one son-in-law, Charles Page; and one gr
andson, Robert William Braendel. Survivors include five daughters, Mar
lynn Boehnlein and her husband Barry of Cleveland, Marian Burge and he
husband William of Waterford, Charlene Rakowski and her husband Gera
ld of Cranesville, Elsie Page of Erie, and Roberta Braendel and her hu
sband Richard of Erie; one Godson, David Braendel; one sister-in-law
, Elsie Mayer; one son-in-law, Edward Skobodzinski; a nephew with who
m he loved to go to breakfast with, Chickie Litz; his good friends, Pa
ul Steen and Robert Crumbly; 25 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren
; and nine great-great-grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews also sur
vive. Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home In
c., 5000 Wattsburg Road (corner of East Gore Rd. and Pine Ave.) on Tue
sday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to services ther
e on Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m.. Burial will be in Wintergreen Go
ge Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Anna Shelter
