    Jesse Alvin Moore, 74, of Salem, Ore., went home to be with the Lord
    , on Monday, Aug. 25, 2003, at home.

    Born on Dec. 31, 1928, he was a son of Fredrick and Esther Delilah Cow
    her Moore.

    On June 21, 1954, in Elkton, Md., he married Sue-Lane Miller, who surv
    ives at home.

    He was a veteran of the Korean War.

    He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He l
    oved to sing hymns and praise the Lord. He was a blessing and enriche
    d the lives of all he touched and will be greatly missed.

    He worked for the Centre Daily Times and Himes Printing in State Colle
    ge until 1960, when he moved his family west, eventually settling in R
    oseburg, Ore.

    After retiring in 1996, he returned to State College until spring 2002
    . In April 2003 he and his wife returned to Oregon to be with their fa
    mily.

    In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Garry Moor
    e and Autumn Braun, of Roseburg; Mark Moore, of Klamath Falls, Ore.; a
    d Lanie Moore-Cumming and Margo Tilley, of Salem, Ore.; two brothers
    , George and Oscar Moore, of Port Matilda; a sister, Rosalie Fasick, o
    f State College; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numero
    us nieces and nephews.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and f
    our brothers.

    A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, at the Rosebur
    g Military Cemetery, Roseburg, with the Rev. Phil Evans, pastor of th
    e Roseburg Christian Fellowship, officiating.
