    CHARLES M. BARNER JR.
    Charles M. Barner Jr., 80, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, died Friday, Nov
    . 19, 2004 in Community General Osteopathic Hospital, Harrisburg. He w
    as a former resident of Liverpool.

    He was born Nov. 24, 1923 in Liverpool to the late Jacob L. Barner an
    d Mary (Zaring) Barner-Zink.

    He retired in 1995 as a professional truck driver, which he did most o
    f his life and received many safe driving awards; a 1941 graduate of M
    illerstown High School; an Army corporal in World War II, serving wit
    h the Tornado 8th Armored Division at the Battle of the Bulge and th
    e Czech occupation; of the Methodist faith; and enjoyed traveling, hun
    ting and fishing.

    He was the widower of Geraldine V. Barner, who died July 4, 2002.

    Surviving are two sons, Charles M. “Pepper” Jr. of Millerstown and Dav
    id R. of Lemoyne; three daughters, Karla B. Levy of Phoenix, Ariz., Tr
    udy J. Sharf of Mechanicsburg and Wendy E. Miller of New Cumberland; t
    hree sisters, Evelyn Wetzler and Mildred Byers, both of Millerstown, a
    d Hazel Myers of St. Petersburg, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-gra
    dchildren; and his former wife, Mildred L. Roush Barner of Mechanicsb
    urg.

    He was preceded in death by a brother, Samuel A.

    She was loved by all. The great delight of her life was spending tim
    e with her children, great grandchildren, and all her family and frien
    ds.
    She was a member of the Millerstown United Methodist Church, and wa

    MILDRED L. BARNER

    Mildred Louise Barner, 84, of New Cumberland died Monday, Oct. 15, 200
    7 at home.

    She was born Jan. 31, 1923 in Millerstown to the late George C. and He
    len (Mather) Roush.

    She was a seamstress for the former Millerstown Dress Factory and Orwe
    co in Grantham and a member of Millerstown United Methodist Church.

    Surviving are children, Karla Levy, Charles Barner, Trudy Sharf, Davi
    d Barner and Wendy Miller; grandchildren, Rick Levy, Andi Melloy, Chri
    stine Nebroski, Randy Heckard, Charlotte Little, Amy Woodward, Colli
    Sharf, Andy Barner, Kirsten Wagner, Daniel Devine, Robert Miller an
    d Benjamin Miller; great-grandchildren, Scarlet and Oliver Levy, Mat
    t Melloy, Zinni Nebroski, Derrick and Shaun Heckard, Rachael and Set
    h Little, Katy and Abby Barner, Brady and Owen Wagner and Jordan and T

    She was preceded in death by her former husband, Charles Barner, and b

    A memorial service was held Oct. 21 in her church with the Rev. Patric
    ia Woolever officiating.

    David M. Myers Funeral Home, Newport, handled arrangements.

    JACOB L. BARNER

    Jacob L. Barner, of Millerstown, R. D. died at his home, Thursday,
    May 2nd. Death was due to a heart attack which he suffered Thursday
    evening.
    Mr. Barner, a farmer, was born May 28, 1897, in Liverpool. He is
    the son of Annie Long Barner of Liverpool, and the late Samuel E.
    Barner. He was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Pfoutz
    Valley.
    On August 10, 1920, Mr. Barner married Mary E. Zaring. He is
    survived by his wife; his mother, two sons, Samuel A. Barner of Mt.
    Pleasant Mills R. D., and Charles M. Barner of Millerstown; three
    daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Shaffer, Mrs. George Byers and Mrs. Don Myers
    all of Millerstown R. D.; 11 grandchildren; and four sisters, Mrs.
    Lloyd Deckard, Mrs. Cloyd Shetterly and Mrs. Verna Earnest, all of
    Liverpool; and Mrs. Rufus Boyer, New Bloomfield.
    Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. in Barner's Lutheran
    Church, Liverpool R. D. Rev. M. O. Mickey, pastor of the Liverpool
    Evangelical United Breathren Church officiated. Interment was made
    in the church cemetery. Funeral services were in charge of Garman's
    Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant Mills.
