    ecember 17, 2014, at her home of 36 years in Hublersburg. Born Januar
    y 19, 1950 in Lock Haven, Carol grew up in McKeesport, PA where she gr
    aduated from Westinghouse Memorial High School in 1967. She attended D
    uff's School of Business in Pittsburgh before returning to Central, PA
    . Carol retired from Supelco in 2010. Prior to working at Supelco sh
    e had worked as a tax preparer, a teller, and as a homemaker. Carol ha
    d many arts and crafts interests over the years, from crocheting and s
    ewing to stained glass, she was always in a creative mode. Carol was a
    avid Penn State Football fan and was an active participant in severa
    l online Penn State sports message boards and tailgates where she wa
    s always quick to help others with finding tickets, and places to sta
    y and things to do when traveling from out of town. Her kindness and s
    miles will be long remembered by everyone who knew her. Carol is survi
    ved by her husband, Carroll G. Heckman whom she married in 1970; her t
    wo sons, Guy (Angela) Heckman of San Antonio, TX and Wayne (Nicole) He
    ckman of Mingoville. Carol is also survived by her parents, Mahlon 'Wa
    yne' and Christine Barner and her sister, Kitty Strouse of Clintondale
    ; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Charles and Sarah Heckman of Hu
    blersburg. She had one grandson, Nathan Lydic-Heckman, and two step gr
    anddaughters - Briauna and Amari Salazar. Carol is further survived b
    y a large loving extended family of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, an
    d cousins. There will be a memorial service held at Trinity United Chu
    ch of Christ in Hublersburg on Monday, December 22 at 6:30pm, Pasto
    Ann Graves officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Alz
    heimer's and Aging Research Center, 11350 Southwest Village Parkway, P
    ort St. Lucie, FL 34987 in Carol's name would be appreciated. Online c

    yne" Barner, 87, of Mill Hall, died April 9, 2015, at the Geisinger Me
    dical Center, Danville. He was born Oct. 31, 1927, in Mill Hall, the s
    on of the late Harry B. and Vera Heeman Barner. On Dec. 6, 1947, he ma
    ied the former Christine Murty who survives at home. Wayne retired i
    1990 after 15 years from the Bellefonte School District where had be
    en Supervisor of Maintenance. He had previously worked for Opalco Labo
    atories in McKeesport. A 1945 graduate of the Hublersburg High School
    , Mr. Barner was a WW II veteran serving in the U.S. Navy as S1C. He s
    erved on the USS Detroit, the USS Gustafson and the USS Helios. For hi
    s service, he was awarded the Pacific Theater Ribbon with one Servic
    e Star, the American Theater Ribbon and the Victory Medal. Wayne atten
    ded the Clintondale United Methodist Church, Bellefonte Lodge # 26
    8 F & AM and Centre Forest 129, Tall Cedars of Lebanon. In addition t
    o his wife, he is survived by: one daughter, Kitty Jo Strouse, Mill Ha
    ll; four grandchildren, Paula Dickey, Leslie Eisenhower, Guy (Angela
    ) Heckman and Wayne (Nichole) Heckman; nine great-grandchildren; fiv
    e brothers, Clarence S. Barner, Houston, Texas, Harry M. (Bettie) Barn
    er, Howard, Kenneth (Susan) Barner, Birmingham, Ala., Gerald Barner, Z
    ion and Barry (Eileen) Barner, Howard; three sisters, Florence (Edwin

    kman on Dec. 17, 2014; and one brother, Robert Barner. Memorial servic

    ed Methodist Church, Lamar, with Rev. Joan Gordon, his pastor officiat

    il 22, 2016, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

    Born Nov. 5, 1927, in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Eug
    ene E. and Nellie R. Berry Murty. On Dec. 6, 1947, she married Mahlo
    A. "Wayne" Barner, who died April 9, 2015.

    Christine was a homemaker who earlier in life had worked at Sylvania
    , Woolworth's in McKeesport, and Stover's Hoagies. She was a member o
    f the Clintondale United Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern Sta
    . Christine was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, especially the Pittsbu
    gh Pirates, and she enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles.

    Christine is survived by one daughter, Kitty Jo Strouse of Mill Hall
    ; one sister, Leanna (Richard) Leuser of Grampian; four grandchildren
    , Paula Dickey, Leslie (Jean Lundy) Eisenhower, Guy (Angela) Heckman a
    d Wayne (Nichole) Heckman; and nine great-grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by one daughter, Carol Heckman who died Dec
    . 17, 2014; one sister, Lillian Benner; and three brothers, John Berry
    , Harry and Arthur Murty.

    A service honoring the memory of Christine M. Barner will be held Thur
    sday, April 28, 2016, at 11:30 a.m. in the Lamar United Methodist wit
    h Pastor Kim Cartwright, her pastor, officiating. Interment, Hublersbu
    g Cemetery. Friends will be received in the church from 10 a.m. unti
    l time of services.

    Memorial contributions may be made to the Clintondale United Methodis
    t Church through the funeral home.

    Mill Hall - Clarence H. BARNER, 76, died suddenly at 4:10 p.m. yesterday at his home after being stricken while at work as a carpenter on the Earl STROUSE farm, Cedar Run.
    Mr. BARNER was working with his son, Mahlon H., Mill Hall contractor, when he suddenly became ill. He was taken home by his son but died shortly after.
    A native of Bald Eagle Twp, he resided in Mill Hall for the past 23 years.
    In addition to his son, he is survived by his wife, Matilda, four other sons and two daughters, Harrry B., Howard RD; Foster A. Harrisburg; Leroy S., Mill Hall; and Floyd I., Rebersburg; Mrs. Fletcher Campbell, Lock Haven, and Mrs. Kenneth LUCAS, Salona; 26 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; also four brothers and one sister, Irvin O., Boyd C., and G. Cleveland all of Mill Hall; Clyde of Merser; and Mrs. Frank
