    Surviving are his wife, Arlene Hockenbroch Shaffer; one son, Larry E

    Flanders and Lois Mosey, both of Port Trevorton RD 1, and Carol Robins

    Services will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow in Garman Funeral Home. Bur

    Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Garman Funeral Home. Bur

    LIVERPOOL - Arlene M. Shaffer, 74, of 200 S. Front St., formerly of RR
    1
    Liverpool, died at 1:08 a.m. Sunday, April 19, 1998, at Holy Spirit Ho
    spital,
    Camp Hill, where she was admitted April 14. She had been ill for th
    e past two
    months.
    She was born April 30, 1923, at RR1 Liverpool, a daughter of the lat
    e William
    Maynard and Verna (Frymoyer) Hockenbroch. On Oct. 18, 1947, she marri
    ed Clayton
    Stahl Shaffer, who died May 22, 1991.
    She was a 1941 graduate of Liverpool High School.
    A dedicated homemaker and mother, she was employed as a seamstress b
    y the
    Liverpool Dress Factory.
    Mrs. Shaffer was a member of St. James United Methodist Church, RR2
    Millerstown, and it's Sunday school.
    She was also a member of the American Association of Retired Persons;
    Liverpool Senior Citizens; and the Liverpool Ambulance League.
    She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, crocheting, quilting and w
    as known
    as an accomplished seamstress. Her family especially enjoyed her baki
    g and
    cooking.
    Surviving are one son and his wife, Larry E. and Crystal M. of Millers
    town;
    three grandchildren, Jenny, Megan and Grace, all of Millerstown; and t
    wo
    sisters, Betty Willow of RR1 Millerstown and Pauline Lenig of Liverpoo
    l.
    Mrs. Shaffer was preceded in death by one infant brother and one siste
    , Hazel
    A. Hoffman, Jan. 9, 1979.
    The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the George P. Gar
    man
    Funeral Home, 606 N. Front St., Liverpool, by the Rev. Arthur L. Montg
    omery of
    Millerstown United Methodist Church. Burial will be in St. John's (Ba
    ers)
    Lutheran Cemetery, RR1 Liverpool.
    Visitors may call from 1 p.m. until the time of service Wednesday at t

    funeral home.
