Wilmer D. Barner, 88, Hollidaysburg, died Friday at Altoona Center fo
Nursing Care.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Dervin and Katie (Seaman) Barn
er. He married Mary Jane Lane, who preceded him in death on Oct. 8, 20
02.
Surviving are three sons: Ronald, Carl and wife, Colleen, and James an
d wife, Terri; two grandsons: Zachary and Jacob; and a number of niece
s and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: George and Glen.
Wilmer was a 1947 graduate of Altoona High School. He retired from Mot
or Freight Express as a truck driver.
He liked to go bowling with his league friends. He loved watching West
erns, sitting on his porch watching the deer and reading Section A o
f the Altoona Mirror.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing or funeral se
vice. A private family gathering will be held at Carson Valley Cemete
y.
