Elizabeth "Betty" Barner Obituary
Barner, Elizabeth "Betty" RENSSELAER Elizabeth Ann Brackett Barner, 82
, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 13, 2014. She was bor
in Fulton to Robert and Mildred Brackett on January 22, 1932. She wa
s a volunteer as well as leader for many programs and activities. Sh
e was a longtime member of the Bible Study Fellowship program and a gr
oup leader for many years. She was awarded an honor by the associatio
as top leader. Betty formed deep and lasting friendships and becam
e a mentor to many. Her life and her love of God have been an inspirat
ion to others. Over the years many have thanked her for her words of e
couragement, which helped them to take new steps of hope and make lif
e changing decisions. Betty is survived by her husband of 61 years, Ha
y E. Barner. Betty and Harry had nine children, listed with their sp
ouses, Ginger and John (Bruce), Stephen and Jeanne, Susan (deceased) a
d Richard (Christiansen), Harry Jr. (Bud), Phil and Sandy, Paul and E
lvie, Tim and Amy (deceased), Marie (deceased), and Bobby (deceased)
. Betty is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren
. Betty is also survived by three siblings, Roberta Bouck, Brenda DeGr
oat, and Robert Brackett, all from western New York. All are invited t
o attend a memorial service in celebration of her life to be held on S
unday, August 17, 2014, at Pineview Community Church, 251 Washington A
ve. Ext., Albany at 6 p.m. The family respectfully requests no flower
