DOROTHY M. HAMMAKER
Dorothy Mae “Dot” Hammaker, 63, of Ickesburg RR 1, Madison Twp, died S
aturday, Oct. 30, 2004 in Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
She was born March 18, 1941 to the late William Roy and Helen Irene (S
eiler) Barner, and was raised from infancy by Virginia (Bailey) Smith-
Barner.
She was employed for more than 16 years by Empire Kosher Company, Miff
lintown, as a line processor; educated at East Juniata High School, Co
colamus; of the Pentecostal faith; and enjoyed going on shopping trips
.
Surviving are two brothers, Paul Barner of Richfield and Charles Barne
of New Cumberland; a sister, Margaret VanHorn of Mifflintown RR 3; a
d a companion of many years, Edward Rice Sr.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Harry, Howard and Paul Sm
ith; and a sister, Thelma Barner.
A funeral service was held Nov. 3 in Garman Funeral Home, Liverpool, w
ith Barry D. Brubaker officiating. Burial was in Blue Ridge Memorial G
ardens, Jonestown Road, Harrisburg.
