Dorothy May Francis Barner, 84, of Belgrade passed away Sunday, Jan. 1
7, 2016, at home surrounded by her family. Dorothy was born on Jan. 12
, 1932, in Bozeman to Jim and Elsie (Davis) Francis. Dorothy attende
d school in Bozeman, Logan, Belgrade, and Manhattan. She married Harol
d Barney Lester Barner, on Oct. 17, 1947, in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Th
ey lived in rural Belgrade for three years, and then in Belgrade. Sh
e worked at home as a housewife, raising their sons, Mike and Les.
She was active in Belgrade Alliance Church. She also enjoyed sewing, g
ardening, and quilting.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her older brother, Jimmy, in 1939, fa
ther in 1941, mother in 1997, husband, Harold, in 2005, and her sister
, Thelma Cass, in 2015.
Survivors include her sons, Mike Barner and Les (Diane) Barner, both o
f Belgrade; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; sister
, Darlene Wruck of Bozeman; and brother, Carl Francis of Twin Bridges.
A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, Jan. 26 at 1 p.m. at Belgr
ade Alliance Church.
