L. Dean Hanna, 79, of Stapleton died July 17, 2010, at his home.
He was born Sept. 14, 1930, to Kenneth Edward “Mike” Roe and Helen Ma
e (Stalnaker) Hanna in Stapleton, Neb. He grew up on a farm in Staplet
on, and graduated from Stapleton High School in 1948.
He married June Barner in North Platte, on Dec. 8, 1950.

L. Dean Hanna, 79, of Stapleton died July 17, 2010, at his home.
He was born Sept. 14, 1930, to Kenneth Edward “Mike” Roe and Helen Ma
e (Stalnaker) Hanna in Stapleton, Neb. He grew up on a farm in Staplet
on, and graduated from Stapleton High School in 1948.
He married June Barner in North Platte, on Dec. 8, 1950.
The couple lived in North Platte where Dean worked for the Union Pacif
ic Railroad. They moved to Stapleton and bought the A&A Service Statio
and owned and operated it for 35 years. After retiring from the stat
ion, they moved to the ranch and raised cattle. The couple also ran th
e Bronco Bowl Bowling Alley.
He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, going t
o many of their events. He liked working with his cows, and loved to f
ix things.
He was a member of the Fair Board, the town board, and the Stapleton R
ural Fire Department. He will be remembered for his laugh which coul
d be heard all over town.
Survivors include his sons, Buddy Dale (Karen) Hanna of Arthur and Re
x (Jeana) Hanna of Stapleton; sister, Lynette Warner of Aurora, Colo.
; daughter-in-law, Candy (Ben) Barbee of Stapleton; 10 grandchildren
; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friend
s.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, June on June 8, 2009
; a son, Larry Dean; and sister, Ramona Ruby.

Visitation will be today from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Adams & Swanson Fune
al Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 21
, at St. John's Catholic Church in Stapleton, with Father Antony Thekk
ekara as celebrant. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. at Floral Lawn
s Memorial Gardens in North Platte.
