June Laree Hanna, 78, of Stapleton died June 8, 2009, at her home.
She was born June 22, 1930, in Stapleton to Chester E. and Edith (Utte
back) Barner.
She graduated from Stapleton High School in 1948 and went to beauty sc
hool in Grand Island before returning to marry L. Dean Hanna on Dec. 8
, 1950, in North Platte. The couple lived in North Platte for a coupl
e of years before returning to Stapleton.
She owned June's Beauty Shop in Stapleton for many years. In 1982 sh
e moved to the country where she continued her business for a while. S
he enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and liked to garde
. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, Dean of Stapleton; sons, Buddy Dale (Ka
en) Hanna of Arthur and Rex (Jeana) Hanna of Stapleton; sisters, Norm
a May Christian of Sterling City, Texas and Pamela Jo (Wayne) Wright o
f Merna; brothers, Glen Dee (Leona) Barner of Stapleton, Lamoyne (Sylv
ia) Barner of Hacienda Heights, Calif., Byron (Elaine) Barner of Linco
ln and Myron (Jan) Barner of North Platte; sisters-in-law, Leni Barne
of North Platte and Lynette Warner of Aurora, Colo.; brother-in-law
, Bill Ruby of Lander, Wyo.; daughter-in-law, Candy (Ben) Barbee of St
apleton; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces an
d nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Larry Dean; brother
, Earl Dean Barner; and a sister-in-law, Ramona Ruby.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 2 p.m. Friday, June 12, at St. John
s Catholic Church in Stapleton with the Reverends James Novakowski an
d Antony Thekkekara as co-celebrants. Burial will be in Floral Lawns M
emorial Gardens in North Platte.
