LIVERPOOL-Edward Clyde Auker, 73, of Liverpool, passed away on Wednesd
ay, Aug. 31, 2011 at his residence.
Edward was born Sept. 19, 1937, in Monroe Twp., Juniata Co, a son of t
he late George David and Hazel Mae (Shellenberger) Auker. He attende
d Richfield Grammar schoolhouse in Monroe Twp. and was a U.S. Marine C
orps Veteran.
He was a truck driver for various trucking companies. Edward attende
d Richfield United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Disable
d American Veterans Chapter 50, Mechanicsburg. He enjoyed fishing, wat
ching golf on TV, and loved playing baseball. In his youth, he playe
d in the Little League World Series, Williamsport.
He is survived by his two brothers, William Auker and his wife Eunice
, of Richfield; Donald Auker and his wife Marian, of Lugoff, S.C.; thr
ee sisters, Sarah M. Graybill of Richfield; Donna Ritzman of McAlister
ville; and Marian Mangle of Mifflintown; and nieces and nephews.
Edward was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie Ann Auker; a grandda
ughter in infancy; two brothers, Richard Auker and Raymond Auker; tw
o brothers-in-law, Gilmore Graybill and Harry Ritzman; two nephews, Do
uglas and Ronald Graybill; and a niece, Debra Graham.
There will be no viewing; a memorial graveside service will be conduct
ed at a later date at the discretion of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in loving memor
y of Edward to the American Heart Association/American Stroke Associat
ion, 1019 Mumma Rd., Lemoyne, PA 17043.
