Marvin E. Bixler, 77, Turbotville

— TURBOTVILLE — Marvin E. Bixler, 77, of Turbotville, passed away on T
uesday, Dec. 6, 2011, at the Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Uni
t, Muncy.
He was born Oct. 4, 1934, in Elimsport, a son of the late George M. an
d Ida J. (Pauling) Bixler. He married the former Donna E. Wolfe on Nov
. 14, 1959, and they celebrated 52 years of marriage.
He was a veteran of the Army.
Marvin retired from PPL in 1976. After retirement, he was a farmer.
He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, Watsontown, and Muncy Ma
sonic Lodge 299.
Marvin enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Lisa K. Bixle
, of Watsontown; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Todd A. and Cassi
e Bixler and Terry W. Bixler, all of Turbotville; three brothers and s
isters-in-law, Curtis and Lucille Bixler, of Exton, Larry and Nancy Bi
xler, of Bellefonte, and Donald Bixler, of South Williamsport; one sis
ter and brother-in-law, Janet and Richard Packard, of State College; a
d two grandchildren, Amanda and Jesse Bixler.
He was preceded in death by one brother, James Bixler, and one sister
, Lucy Felix.
Family and friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at th
e Brooks Funeral Home, 207 Broadway St., Turbotville. A Masonic servic
e will be held at 5:45. The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Satur
day in Friendship Baptist Church, Susquehanna Trail, Watsontown, wit
h the Rev. Jerry L. Caswell officiating.
Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.
