Gordon L. “Bud” Barner
Gordon L. “Bud” Barner ,80 years young, slipped away quietly at his ho
me surrounded by the people who meant the most to him; his wife of 6
1 years, Pat; two sons, two daughters and his best ” furbaby”, Molly.
Born Feb. 7, 1937 in Mill Hall, he was the son of the late Grover Clev
eland and Nancy E. Barner. He was a 1955 graduate of the Mill Hall Hig
h School.
Bud was a heavy equipment operator starting his career right out of hi
gh school with McCormack Construction. Later he joined the Operating E
gineers Union and finished his career of 40 years with Nestlerode Con
tracting as a crane operator. After retirement he enjoyed part-time wo
k with Benson and Sam Probst Excavating, with his “big boy” toys.
Bud also enjoyed hunting and spending time with his children, grandchi
ldren and pets.
Bud was a veteran having served in the Pa. Army National Guard. Bud an
d his wife, the former Patricia L. Neff, were married Aug. 4, 1956. I
addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters, Tammy L. (Tom
) Butler, of Loganton and Terri L. Butler (Mark Walizer), of Lock Have
; two sons, Rodney L. (Dawn) Barner, of Blanchard and Ricky Jo (Joyce
) Barner, of Mill Hall; one sister, Pearl Layman, of Northumberland; o
e brother, Jimmy H. (Sandra) Barner, Mill Hall; six grandchildren an
d four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Haffley and Marie Roger
s amd three brothers, Clifford, Raymond and Grover Barner.
At Bud’s request, services will be held at the convenience of the fami
ly and there will be no visitation.
Interment will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to either Hel
p for Pets or the Clinton County SPCA through the funeral home.
