David A. Long, 53, of 125 Mann Ave., Mill Hall, died Saturday, Nov. 23
, 2013 at the Lock Haven Hospital.
Born Jan. 12, 1960 in Lock Haven, he was the son of Lloyd K. Long of B
eech Creek, and the late Sylvia J. Barner Long who died Dec. 25, 1974.
Following the death of his mother, Dave was raised by his grandparents
, the late Louise Mayes and Grover C. Barner.
He was a foreman for PennDOT, having worked for the department since 1
999.
He previously worked at Camelot Estates.
Dave enjoyed hunting and fishing, was a devoted Crosscutters fan and w
as dedicated to his work.
He was a member of the Bald Eagle United Presbyter-ian Church, a socia
l member of the Castanea Fire Co. and the Sons of Italy, the Durty Dab
bers Motorcycle Club and the Fisher Hill Hunting Camp.
Dave was probably best known for being a hard worker and kind-hearted.
He was a 1978 Graduate of Bald Eagle Nittany High School.
He is survived by a son, Ryan P. Long of Mill Hall; a daughter, Taylo
J. Long of Lock Haven; a brother, Michael R. Long of Mill Hall; an
d a grandchild, Alaina B. Long
Services will be held Wednesday Nov. 27, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the Dean K
. Wetzler, Jr. Funeral Home, 320 Main St., Mill Hall, with Pastor Susa
Champion officiating.
Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013 in th
e funeral home
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bald Eag
le United Presbyterian Church through the funeral home .
