Jean E. Keiler
Jean E. Keiler, 85, of Jersey Shore, died Thursday, April 11, 2002, a
t Manor Care Jersey
Shore, where she had been a guest since Fall, 2000.
She was born March 6, 1917, in Jersey Shore, a daughter of John H. an
d Mary Barner Furl.
She was a 1935 Graduate of Jersey Shore High School and received an LP
N degree from the
former Williamsport Tech.
She was married in Sept., 1937, to Kenneth E. Keiler, who died Aug. 21
, 1985.
She was a nurse at the Jersey Shore Hospital and also a private duty n
urse.
Jean was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church, where she had tau
ght children's
Sunday School. She was a Past Matron of the Ivanhoe Chapter of the Ord
er of the Eastern Star,
a member of the White Shrine, Antes Fort Chapter of DAR and a voluntee
of the American Red
Cross. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading.
She is survived by a daughter, Peggy A. Welshans of Jersey Shore; thre
e grandchildren and
seven great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Linda Jean Katov in Feb., 1989.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in St. John's Lutheran Churc
h Chapel with her pastor,
Rev. Kerry Aucker, officiating. Burial will be in the Jersey Shore Cem
etery.
Friends may call at the church from 10-11 a.m. Monday.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 22
