WILLIAM BARNER FLICK, 83 of Colora MD, passed away January 7, 2010 a
t his home.
Mr. Flick was born in Ardmore, PA on November 7, 1926, the son of Will
iam and Anna Sheffler Flick. He was preceded in death by his sister, B
etty Sickles. Bill was a US postal carrier for the US postal service f
or 33 years in Drexel Hill, PA. Bill was A World War II veteran, Bil
l served in the 2nd Armored Division trained for mainland invasion o
f Japan until the Japanese surrendered August of 1945. Bill was a 32
° Mason and a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Colora
, MD. Bill served on the board of the Ray of Hope Mission and delivere
d meals on wheels for 25 years. The family wishes to thank many for th
e prayers, cards and especially the caregivers.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Jane Mitchell Flick of Color
a MD; 5 sons, William Flick, wife Marie of Drexel Hill PA, John Flick
, wife Linda of Glen Mills PA, James Flick, wife Maureen of Drexel Hil
l PA, Thomas Flick, wife Marieann of Media PA, Robert Flick, wife Donn
a of Upper Darby PA; stepchildren, Michael Mitchell, wife Susan of Pot
omac MD. and Lucinda Schreck, husband Gerald Schreck of West Chester P
A; 22 grandchildren, 2 great-grand-children and brother, Charles Flic
k of Drexel Hill PA.
Memorial Service will be held at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Churc
h on Saturday, January 16, 11 A.M., officiated by Reverend Robert Ridd
leberger and assisted by Reverend Usher Tunic. Charitable contribution
