Dorsey S. Dunlap
Dorsey S. Dunlap, 93, of 136 Elm St., South Williamsport, died Wednesd
ay, Sept. 24, 2003, at his home. Dorsey was a self-employed invento
and enjoyed hunting, inventing and rides to the farm in Nisbet on wh
ich he was raised. Born March 8, 1910, in Duboistown, he was the so
of Samuel and Margaret Knauff Dunlap. Surviving are his wife, the f
ormer Maxine S. Simon; daughters Leona Washburn of Huddleston, Va., an
d Joy Crossley of Beacon Falls, Conn.; sisters Evelyn Kimble of Willia
msport and Mary Brown of Montoursville; seven grandchildren; and ten g
eat-grandchildren. Dorsey was predeceased by a son, Joe Wilson, a br
other, Herman Dunlap, and a sister, Bernice Yost. Funeral services wil
l be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Knight-Confer’s, 1914 Memorial Ave
., with the Rev. James R. Sunderland Jr. officiating. Burial will be a
t the Resurrection Cemetery. There will be a visitation Saturday fro
m 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
