Alice M. “Brickie” Barner, 81 of Clinton Ave., South Renovo, died Sund
ay, Oct. 2, 2005 at Bucktail Medical Center where she resided since Ju
e.
Mrs. Barner was born April 11, 1924 in Renovo, the daughter of James F
. and Maude L. (Watson) Perry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ardell Barner in 1993.
Mrs. Barner worked for Piper Aircraft in Renovo for 15 years. She wa
s a member of St. Joseph’s Church, the Altar Rosary Society and Cathol
ic Daughters of America. She was a 1942 graduate of Renovo High School
.
Mrs. Barner was an avid baker. She also enjoyed bowling and playing ca
ds.
She is survived by one son, Kenneth J. Barner Sr. and his fiance Debr
a Day of Lock Haven; one daughter, Wanetta K. Sockman (Clarry) of Reno
vo; four grandchildren, Kenneth J. Jr., Kraig, Beth Ann and Susan; an
d four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Francis, Charles and Jero
me, and two sisters, Katherine Miller and Grace Nihart.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, 2005 a
t the Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth Street, Renovo. Rev. Donald E. B
oslett will officiate. Friends and relatives will be received from 6 t
o 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in North Ben
d Cemetery, #103 at the convenience of the family.
Family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to St
. Joseph’s Church Fuel Fund or to Bucktail Medical Center.
