Victor P. Pollock
Victor P. Pollock, 87, of 1814 Marshall Ave., died peacefully surround
ed by his family on Oct. 2, 2006 at the Gatehouse Hospice Unit followi
g an extended illness.
Victor and his wife, the former Eleanor Jean Barner would have observe
d their 63rd wedding anniversary on Oct. 22, 2006.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the Church of th
e Annunciation. Victor retired in 1981 from the former Avco Lycoming P
lant as a toolmaker after 35 years of service.
He was a member of V. F. W. Post 7863, Duboistown, enjoyed boating, fi
shing, hunting, gardening and loved spending time with his family.
Born May 24, 1919 in Greensburg, Westmoreland, Co, he was the son of M
ichael and Mary Hanyo Pollock.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Victor Jr. (Emily) of Mont
our Falls, N.Y.; daughter, Linda J. (Garth) Hickoff of Hughesville; br
other, Michael of Blairsville; grandchildren, Michael, Anna and Nathan
iel Pollock, Amanda Hickoff, Rachel Hickoff-Cresko and Jesse Hickoff
; and a great granddaughter, Scarlet.
Private services and burial will be at the convenience of the family w
ith the Rev. Paul C. Fontanella officiating. No visitation. Burial wil
l be in Wildwood Cemetery, &029, AKA, "Mound Cemetery""Mount Carmel".
The family will provide the flowers and suggests to those wishing to o
ffer expressions of condolence in loving memory of Victor, may do so b
y contributing to the Gatehouse Hospice Unit, 1100 Grampian Blvd. Will
iamsport, PA 17701, so the love, care and support they provide can con
tinue to grow.
