Notes |
Obit." Death has again claimed one of East Springfield's most respected ladies, Mrs. Miles O. Bristol, who died Monday, Feb. 17, 1902, after a short sickness of only about a week from pneumonia. In her loss, East Springfield loses one of its best and most estimable ladies, whom all felt a very high regard and admiration for.
Zadie Bowman Bristol was born in 1862, daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. R. D. Bowman, of Cranesville. She was married to Mr. Bristol about 15 years ago, and has lived since then at East Springfield. One son, Ralph, who will be five years old next month, blessed their union and is thus young in life bereft of a mother's love and care. He has been very sick with stomach trouble the past few days but is much improved, however. Besides the husband and son, she leaves her father, step-mother, brother, James Bowman, of Conneaut, and a host of friends to mourn her loss. She had been a faithful member of the M.E. church for years and earnest worker in the cause. Her funeral was at the M.E. church in East Springfield Wednesday at 2 p.m. Rev. Lytle, of West Springfield, officiating and was very largely attended. Interment was in East Springfield cemetery." Source: "B" file of newspaper clippings at the Albion Library (10/2000)
