Jack M. Poorman, 74, of 85 Cedar Heights, Mill Hall, passed away on Fr
iday, Oct. 25, 2013 at his residence.
He was born July 26, 1939 in Lock Haven, the son of the late Harry M
. and Mabel Myers Poorman and step-son of the late Elva G. Poorman.
On July 17, 1971 in Lock Haven he married the former Linda L. Barner w
ho survives. They celebrated 42 years of marriage this past July.
He was a graduate of Lock Haven High School. Growing up he worked fo
his uncle at Myers Garage in Beech Creek. He was a mechanic at Clint
on Lanes, where he became a co-owner and then owner for 12 years befor
e retirement.
He was an avid bowler, and he had 2 300 games and a 700 game. He was h
onored for 50 years of participation in the Pennsylvania State Men's B
owling Tournament. He served as secretary for two bowling leagues an
d was secretary for the local men's association for many years.
He was an avid Penn State fan and enjoyed watching them on TV. He als
o liked high school football, golf, and reading.
He was a past member of Belles Springs Golf Course.
In addition to his wife, Linda, he is survived by a daughter, Betsy Fa
lls (Jeff) of Howard, a granddaughter, Nichole Witner (Brian) of Flemi
gton, and great-grandchildren Noah and LiLi, nieces and nephews, a sp
ecial friend, Stephanie Fink, and his buddy Scruffy.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the Do
ald G. Walker Funeral Home Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, with the R
ev. Chad Long officiating. Private burial services will be at the conv
enience of the family. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesd
ay and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funera
l home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Clinton County SPCA or the A
merican Heart Association.
