. "Boots" Haagen, 84, of Snydertown, died Monday, Nov. 27, 2006, at Mo
unt Nittany Medical Centre, State College, Centre Co, PA Born Nov. 12
, 1922, in Beech Creek Twp, he was a son of the late William W. and Ev
a B. Mayes Haagen. On Jan. 12, 1946, he married Ruth Waltz, who surviv
es at home. He was employed with Warner Co. and retired after 38 year
s of service. Prior to that, he worked for E.D. Myers and Yeagles Movi
g and Storage in Lock Haven. He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Chu
ch in Snydertown, where he served on the church council, was a Sunda
y school superintendent and sang in the church choir. A charter membe
of the Walker Twp. Fire Co, he was in the fire company marching uni
t and was a member of the Walker Twp. team of the fireman's bowling le
ague. He was a member of the Crossroads Campers, the Bells and Beaus S
quare Dancing Club, Bellefonte Lodge 268 of the Free and Accepted Maso
s, the Rural Arch Masons, Constans Commandery #33, both of Bellefonte
, and the Centre Forest #129 Tall Cedars of Lebanon, of State College
. He enjoyed fishing and collecting John Deere memorabilia. Upon his r
etirement, Harry and his wife, Ruth, resided in the winter months in O
keechobee, Fla. He was blessed to have his children, grandchildren an
d great-granddaughters in close proximity to him, and being able to sh
are in their lives and watching the children grow. He also enjoyed cam
ping at the Grange Fair and spending time chatting with all his friend
s. Surviving are a daughter, Judy Seymour and her husband, Jeff, of Sn
ydertown; a son, Larry A. Haagen and his wife, Paula, of Snydertown; s
isters, Ida Cunnane, of Beech Creek and Gladys Dreese, of Pleasant Gap
; four grandchildren, Kelly Berkey and husband, Franklin, Amy Haagen E
vans and husband, Chris, David Haagen and fiance, Amy Fanning, and Nic
holas Seymour; and two great-granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Allison Berke
y. He was preceded in death by six sisters, Eunice, Pearl and Barbar
a Peters, Elizabeth Poorman, Iva Mantle and Dorothy Haines, and six br
others, Francis, Rlynn, Albert, Harold "Whitey," Sylvester "Johnny," a
d Cyrus, "Bill." Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, 2006
, at the W. Robert Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main St., Howard, wit
h a Masonic service at 8:45 p.m. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Satu
day, Dec. 2, 2006, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 773 Snydertown Rd., H
oward, with the Rev.'s Russell Sauerwein and Evelyn Wald officiating
. Burial will be in Hublersburg Cemetery, @047, Walker Twp. Memorial c
