Marvin E. Russell
Marvin E. Russell Sr., 84, passed away peacefully at home in Peoria, A
iz., onJune 9, 2007 of congestive heart failure.
He was born on April 17, 1922 in Lock Haven to John E. and Myrtle Youn
g-Russell and was one of ninechildren. Surviving siblings include Mabe
l Russell-Shoemaker, SylviaRussell-Barth, Allen Russell and Carl Russe
ll.
He was preceded in death by brothers Kenneth, Jesse and Harry Russel
l and sister Lois Russell-Walizer.
Marvin graduated from Lock Haven High School in Lock Haven in 1942. He
proudly served three and a half years in the US Navy as an instructo
and aboard theL.S.T. 691 during World War II. He later attended Will
iamsport Community College inWilliamsport.
He was a member of local 810 Plumbers & Pipefittersin Williamsport.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Haroldine E. Russell, whom he marrie
d onJuly 20, 1946.
Marvin and Harlodine raised four children in Woolrich.
Surviving sons include Wayne E. Russell and spouse Ann Russell, of St.
Johns, Ariz., and Marvin E. Russell Jr. and Su Russell of Jersey Shore
.
He was preceded in death by daughters Cynthia Russell and Pamela Russe
ll.
Grandchildren include Chris Probst, Tara Esposit, Heather Russell, Mar
vinE. Russell III, Brian Russell, William Porter and Katie Porter. Gre
at-grandchildren include Colby and Madison Probst, Koral and EvanEspos
it, Samantha, Jared and Lynnae Russell, Nataleigh and McKenzie Russell
and Carlos and James Porter.
Marvin was an avid hunter and angler. He was a member of the Peoria Ro
dand Gun Club where he enjoyed trap shooting. He was also a member o
f theAmerican Legion. Memorial Services were held in Peoria, Ariz.
Internment will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Woolrich. The famil
y requests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Associ
ation.
